Got smashed at an intersection this morning *Pics added to post #32*
I was sitting in the left turn lane waiting for the light to turn green when a Brinks armored truck runs the red light and t-bones a new Sierra 4x4 sending him rolling through the air where he lands just in front of me to the left. The Sierra smashes into my front end in the left corner then rolls up onto my hood and the hood of the truck beside me at the light. Nobody is hurt fortunately, not even the guy in the Sierra who rolled and he wasn't wearing a seat belt. My whole front end is shifted over, although it doesn't look like there was any frame or suspension damage. A plywood baracade that got hit punched two 1"x8" slots through my driver's door.
I had it towed to my dealer's bodyshop, now I'm waiting to hear from my insurance adjuster. They better write it off because I don't want it back. It will never be worth a damage free car so I want a new one. It has 31,000 kilometers on it and is not quite 2 years old.

I can't imaging a Sierra landed on your hood and the frame isn't damaged - it is aluminum after all. I once had a Suzuki GSXR simply fall over and land on something on the frame rail and that bent the frame.

So sorry to hear about your accident. Glad that no one was injured. Best of luck with the insurance situation. Sounds like the armored truck's insurer owes you big time. Try to get a new Z out of the deal.

Thanks for your concern, in the end it's only metal and plastic. What's done is done so we just move forward. While I'd miss her, having a new Z to play with wouldn't be so bad either.
I'll keep y'all posted.

Being a victim of sitting at a stop light, I understand your shock when it happened. I wasn't in a vette, luckly I was in a ugly truck. This is a no-fault state, but rear-ends and someone breaking the law go into the fault pile at the court house.
Make sure they issue the driver a ticket, I know there is a time limit on this.
Good luck
Randy
