Just went 1/2" wider. Did not go up to 19 & 20 because I wanted run flats and I did not want to reduce the amount of rubber betweem the rim and the road. Going from 19 t0 20 reduces the amount of rubber by 1/2 of the amount. That changes the handeling because you loose something called tire tilt that is very important when cornering.

I want to get a set of HREs really soon and was going to go 19/20 because I would like to eventually put that larger Brembo or (if possible) ZR1 brake kit on, and from what I understand, I can't with 18s.

Can you fill me in on the tire tilt theory? I'm really curious because the ZR1 has a 19/20 set up. Are runflats not available for this set up?

A taller tire has more lean then a low profile tire. Low profile tires are more for looks then performance. HRE does not even make there Competition series wheels in 20" only 17, 18 and 19. I would have bought one of the Comp Series wheels but they all came with exposed rivits and I wanted hidden construction.
The Zr1 has 19 & 20 but that car stands taller then a Z06 so that means that not only the rims are 1" bigger but they did not reduce the tire to a lower profile then the Z06.
Changing to larger size wheels will change the handeling and maybe even facilitate an alignment.
The tires on the ZR1 are run flats but as of yet Michlin does not make a fitment for the ZO6. I am keeping my fingers crossed that by the time I need new tires they will have them.
