Default Oil Filter

There are numerous parts stores that now show the M1-113 Mobil oil filter applicable to the C6-Z06. Has anyone had any experience with this filter on your Z? I have used these filters on all of my previous Corvettes and all of my other vehicles with great success. I am very hesitant to use this filter on my Z without some recommendation. Any comments? I'm only up on my second oil change at 5000 miles.

It is my understanding that the K&N filter is made by the same co.(as the mobile 1), is identical in construction except it (K&N) has the "nut" on the bottom for easy off.

I used the K&N on my ZR-1. I was told that it had a better anti drain back valve. I still had cam chain rattle at start up. Probably not the filter's fault. I have the Mobil 1 on the Z06. No issues with either one.

I run nothing but the Mobil 1 filter in all my cars if it is available. I haven't used any oil other than Mobil1 since 1986 when I fried a brand new Harley 80 inch rebuild in less than a thousand miles.

I am cuurently using the mobil 1 filter with no problems. I am changeing the oil for the second too and will use the mobil 1 filter again. I also wanted to mention that I have an 06 Z that has magnetic drain plugs. There has been some discussion that the 06s don't have magnetic drain plugs. My car was built late may, early june I think. I will have to look at build date on the car.
