Wow :o Thank you for the time to express that.
Here's my view:
I will admit it was never my attention to have such a detailed account of this project publicly. I have posted a lot of it but certainly not everything.
In my very first post I mentioned how much I loved the Z06 and had taken it as far as it could go keeping it street friendly and legal. We had all been trying to find the perfect balance of track and street.
I thought it would be neat to show some of the things that go into building a car safety-wise aside from performance. I also thought I would have only 4 or 5 updates.
I must say I was completely overwhelmed by the Forum's kind words and constructive criticism (even though nobody realized how detailed this car was going to be on the onset). I received countless PMs asking me to post more continuously throughout the build, so I did.
As far as a story in print, I'd only be interested in telling the story if people wanted to hear it, The attention doesn't matter, my 15 minutes were up a long time ago. I would love to share the obstacles, struggles and sacrifices made to build it. (I think it would blow away a West Side Choppers episode and without the foul language. )
I look forward to seeing many of you at the Katech event shortly. I will do my best to share the car with you all and scare as many of you as I have time for.

Now, can't you do something to get May here faster? A guy that can build an car like the "BEAST" should also be able to do something with TIME!

Just tell me what direction to point the Beast and maybe I can spin Earth into May!

Hey Mike,
WOW! The paint job looks great!
I, too, have been bewildered by the size and placement of your number.
IMHO, would look great if you used "italicized looking typeset" ... ie. slanting forward on both sides in shadowed LARGE NUMBERS just under the side door windows. You could use black or white numbers with a complimentary outline and red shadowing to compliment the red stripes! (shadowing the numbers towards the rear). That would really complete "the look"!
Look at other Roadrace cars and Nascars to get the idea I'm talking about.
Thanks again for sharing your build and I also agree that it needs to be featured in some magazine articles.
BTW, that wing is HUGE!
If you went fast in reverse, you could probably lift off!

Safety Car
Given the fact that 99.9% of normal track cars shouldnt be on the track with this car at the same time.
I think the .1% is this car

I'd love to see two major custom builds go at it on track.

The numbers were put on last year for an SCCA SPO event. Knowing I was going to paint the car and they would be temporary, I never put too much effort into it.
The Wing makes a great buffet table during lunch!

Thanks, I hope to be on track in one week when we open.
I've run it in a few local races at Autobahn last year but it was never complete like it will be this year. It's primarily the dream I've had of building the ultimate track car.
I will run a much cheaper T-1 car in some SCCA and NASA events this year.

I didn't read the whole thread. But didn't you guys get hit with that storm. We went from doors open in the shop, back to winter wonder land overnight. If you ever need a good weather forcast, call me 1.25 days ahead. 2 full days for indy, but for the east coast it's a crap shoot.
Looking very good!

We did get hit up North. My area saw 8 inches.
Last Saturday I drove to the track.....the first 50 miles were snow covered landscapes......as I approached Autobahn there was no sign of snow.
