4.10 gears
I'm thinking of swapping out the highway gears for some 4.10's. Is anyone running these or 3.73's and what has your experience been?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info - do you know if anyone is working on it? Seems like the car has been out long enough that someone would have come up with a solution by now.

not true. lower gears will give you more overall traction because you have lower attainable speeds in every gear.
you might be able to break them loose easier at the very begening, but they will regain traction way before the stock gears once you you're on your way

Motive Gear is the only gear company I know of that's working on making a C6 Z06 gearset. They've been telling me "Just another 6 months" for the last 10 months. A set of 3.90's/4.10's would be GREAT for street/strip activities.

Exactly! Mine is at RPM right now having this and other things done. Rodney has done this in his personal Z06, so no need to worry about the smaller diff gear. Will post up my impressions when it is finished

Maybe they just need a critical mass of orders. Count me for one set of 4.10s. I'm sure there at least five or ten others on here who would jump on it, too. That ought to give them the motivation to move on it. It's a no-brainer and being the first to launch a new product for which there is pent-up demand is a great business model.

its a difficult concept for some to understand but shorter gears give you better traction because it keeps wheel velocity lower than the taller stock gears. with shorter gears, its only easier to spin the tires at the very begenning. then the tire grabs easier than with taller gears because of the lower wheel velocities involved with shorter gears.
shorter gears are used for both increased torque multiplication for more explosive acceleration and for better over all traction

stock is 3.42 right?
I dunno... i think i would rather do a 5th/6th gear swap than a final. I really like how the gears are spaced out... they match the engine very well imo.

My gearing is as follows:
1st 2.660
2nd 1.780
3rd 1.300
4th 1.000
5th 0.740
6th 0.510
final 4.100
First gear I can run to 53.3mph (7k limiter) and shifting into second will bring me down to 4700rpm. Second will run to 79.6mph and shifting to third will put me at 5100rpm. Third will run to 109.0 and shifting to fourth will drop to 5400. Fourth will run to 141.7 and shifting to 5th will bring me down to 5200rpm. Fifth will run to 191.5 and shifting to 6th will put me at 4800rpm. Sixth will theoretically run to 277.9 but I obviously will never hit that plateau.
