Nope.........it won't command anything from me.

Wouldn't buy one. I'd rather have my OWN name on it.

But that's just me.

Funny isn't it . . . . If people (customers . . paying customers)
have been asking for YEARS for a DARK RED Z06, wouldn't one
think that a car manufacture would built them ? Hell man, it's
just a color. That's all. The problem with most US car makers is
they always wait to late to listen.

I am not a big fan of the Crystal Red but I would have loved
to see a Z06 in the Monterey Red Color. See GM, . . always
to late . . . . . Monterey Red Z06 Now that would have
been one beautiful Z06.

I can't wait for the "Barrett Jackson" crowd to buy
all these up. I can here Craig now "Come on people,
these are definately worth the money".

Barrett Jackson - 2058 . . . . . .

In another sentence I can almost hear him saying:
"most of you have probably never heard of Wil Cooksey....
I think he used to work on developement of the Corvair with Ralph Nader"

What became of those Limited Edition 1969 Ralph Nader Corvairs ? Did Investors buy them all up and "flip" them right away.

YUP! Corvette (and other car makers) have been selling these "special" editions for years for significant markups. My Z06 was expensive enough when I got it in December, even with a good discount! I'm not interested in spending stupid money for stickers, autographs and garbage like that. That color is nice though- would have got it over my VR color if it had been available in the Z.

But as long as enough fish keep biting, the car makers will keep doing it.

[QUOTE=Mr. Wonderful;1564031390]When will GM be offering the special edition for the janitor that is retiring after 50 years ?
QUOTE]

You're too late. The janitor retired a few years back and was replaced by an illegal.
The slammed purple Carlos Garcia edition ZR1 will be out in 2009 with wheels and tires sticking 8" out past the fenders, and the interior will already have the sheepskin and white fuzzy dice

Good example of special edition overkill! It's normal for any manufacturer to start with the special editions when their model has been out for a few years and they want to rekindle interest. Mazda has done this to death with the Miata. People have started to look forward to the C7, so it's time for the C6 special editions. Oh well, it gives more choice in the marketplace, so it must be good.

Mustang, GT, GT California Special, Warriors in Pink Edition(Cancer Thing), Shelby GT-Hertz, Shelby GT, Shelby GT500, Shebly GT500KR, Barrett Jackson Edition, Bullitt Edition and I'm sure the Mach 1 is just around the corner.
