that brings up something that I wanted to post about (poll?) for a while.....I wonder how many of the Z owners have ever driven a car with decent power before....or are they compairing it with the previous 275hp vehicles....

Driving a 750Hp muscle car, then driving the Z, is not really something that I would go OMG multiple times for, re power....

just curius....

for the way the z06 has near perfect low rpm manners, no fuel smell, uses pump gas, is completely smog legal, gets amazing highway fuel economy and then factor in the really low curb weight, brakes and handling package...it's worthy of at least a few omg's. LOL

that's true. My 02 Z28 had more power than my C6Z, but there was a pretty big price to be paid as far as driveability to have that kind of speed/power. With my Z06 I get 130+ mph trap speeds with none of the negative things that the Z28 had.

I with the poster hoping you guys are right.

80k for a Z when I have a perfectly good blown coupe that's paid for has my wife in a tizzy. The z wont have much if any power over the coupe, so I'm hoping its just that much more car.

I'm going to make the coupe the DD and save the Z for the weekends.

Worth only exists in the mind of the buyer. My friend buys watches that range from 10K-50K and they are more than worth it to him and not at all to me. It's just prespective. My Z was worth it to me.

I dunno...I kinda miss my C5 Z06, but I am sure I'll get over it once my tushie gets reacquainted with having heated seats.

The LZ2 has side impact air bags would get the option for that reason ALONE. When you sit in your vette look at where your eye level is and the front ends of most vehicles. Yes in a side impact your head will go out the side window int the front of whatever is striking you at the impact velocity. Side impacts with near side occupants with a lateral velocity of 20 mph can easily result in fatalities. I have seen fatals in the 8-12 mph range with an adverse collision configuration
I do motor vehicle accident reconstruction for a living. I 3 of the 4 vehicles I own have side impact air bags the one that does not is a full sized pickup where you cant get them and for most accidents they are not needed due to the seated height.
The c6 Z will be way faster than you c5 Z
You will not be disappointed

I owned a 2002 and 2004 C-5 Z06, a 2006 C6 coupe and now have a 2008 Z06.

By far my favorite vette yet, amazing machine....go for it

Just me, but I would not order a stripped down car.

Good luck though, whatever you decide.

FYI, you talked me into buying the 2LZ vs the 1LZ - 2 months in the past.
