What HEADER nets the most HP from stock????
I am looking into purchasing a set of headers for my 06 Z06 and want it to be louder when I flip the valve open. Kooks, ARH, and LG's seem to be the packages most use. What is the typical gain from stock form and after the header install with a Cold intake and tune. I am hearing that 500 rwhp is the usuall output. I also heard a claim that Kooks stepped header desgin adds another 30-40hp. I am not too sure about this claim and never saw the dyno. Would love to hear the general consensus here on headers and the power curves we are seeing. Thanks!

If all are same performance then KOOKS is the choice!
If all are the same pretty much then Kooks would be the best bang for the buck. Now is there a benefit to using the stepped headers???

My vote would be for LG's. Better low end torque. The step headers did not help. I have seen all 3 on the same car, same dyno.. LG, Kooks 1 7/8, and stepped header. Top end numbers were real close with the edge going to the Kooks 1 7/8 headers by 2 hp. You won't go wrong with any of these 3

Considering the low end the Z06 has I'd go with a set from ARH Give the forums a quick as this topic gets discussed almost biweekly. Good luck in whatever you choose.

Kooks with a tune seem to net over 500rwhp with touching the cam profile. I am still debating on a cam the reason being is the dam car spins first and second gear no matter what. End of second you are going almost 100mph anyways. The cam I think is not really gonna make much of a difference on our cars accept up top. How much improvement in drag times are guys seeing. Stock the Z06 turns 11.4 @125 mph. Are we talking only a couple miles an hour and tenth or two trap??? What do you guys think.....I do know the Longtubes make the Z06 sound mean and about twice as loud.

Always look at the torque in the lower rpm area below 4500 and you can easily figure out what is good and what is not.
Thanks
LG
Here is a 500+RWHP and you can see the large torque/hp in the lower end Torque is above 450 from 3800 to nearly 6000
The graph below is with LG Headers, Tune, and Halltech filter only.
