Well, here i am again, another 9000 miles and another set of tires. Is anyone having luck from anything other than the Goodyear?

I just got my new PS2s from Tire Rack yesterday. Man, purdy tires.. I hope they stick well and last a long time. I've got my Costco air compressor and a plug kit in the left rear luggage compartment. So long run-craps..

I hope you don't destroy a wheel before you get to use the compressor and plug. Those are mighty skinny sidewalls.

345/30/19s, not 325s. Michelin lists them as fitting 11.5" to 12.5" wheels, the 12" wide wheel being the spec'd wheel on Michelin's web site. I measured across the bead of the new unmounted tires and they're 12.5". The Viper wheel (13") will pull the side walls out 1/4" on each side while our OEM wheels will pull the side walls in about a 1/4" per side. The difference is insignificant, IMHO.

This is not new ground here.. All the C5 Z06s were non-runflats and after 59,000 miles and several flats I never injured a tire/rim. Short of a catastrophic/major failure the pressure sensors will take care of the low pressure notification duties. I think this "got to have runflats" frenzy is fueled by a lot of false paranoia. The sacrifice pales compared to the reaped rewards..

1. reported discord on the "weak" sidewalls and the associated flex.
(The main reason I'm doing this is to get the best handling road tire available, bar no price ...within reason < $400 difference for all 4)
2. Nitto's are 1/2" narrower then the PS2s .. (I know, I know, racked with tire width envy.. )

fixed ^ You let P-Car owners make your decisions? 100s loved the tire...did you miss that?

I'm also waiting for someone who tracks or autoxes regularly to report on Nittos. Ultimate grip, turn in, and communication of imminent loss of grip are the main factors I consider in a street tire since I like to track the car on street tires. Cost, wet grip, straight line grip, noise, tire life and ride are secondary concerns.

I came close to buying the Nittos, save two reasons..
1. reported discord on the "weak" sidewalls and the associated flex.

2. Nitto's are 1/2" narrower then the PS2s .. (I know, I know, racked with tire width envy.. )

2. If you can tell .225" (looking at the outside of the tire) between tires, good on ya! You got better eyes than me. Personally, I can't tell any diff in width between these tires when on the car.
The diff in price between the two (TireRack PS2s/America's Tire Nittos), including shipping/mounting/balancing was just north of $500 for me. Plus the local America's Tire gives free road hazard for 6 mos. Easy decision .
