My second color choice is Victory Red, which my wife wants. I still have time to decide. Another question - has anyone done the Museum Delivery and then had the car transported home? My concern is driving at steady highway speeds from Bowling Green to Washington (about 2500 miles). Not a very good way to break the car in.

Congratulations on your decision!

I would not spend money on exhaust and intake first.
There are many other things that will give you more bang for the buck, but it all depends of your intended usage. Are those intended new wheels for street or track?

Mostly street bling. But some autocross. The wheels will be C21 competition series, the same as I have on My S2000.

Congratulations.

May I ask, why a $7,000 downpayment for a Kerbeck order? Is that what they required to be on their list?

My question is why in the world spend 35k on a honda just to get 600 rwhp?!?! Thats what I call a serious waste of good money. If you would have started with a decent GM base engine,ie: LS1, LS2, LS6, or LS7, you would have about 1500rwhp now with same 35k. You could have bought an LS7 for 13k and you would have been way ahead of the game. What could you add to an LS7 for 20k? Like I said about 1500 hp.

Default 2008 Order

I'm selling my 07' Z and looking to place an order for an 08'. The dealer told me they are expecting the 08' pricing to be released next week. I will wait till then to give my deposit and order (assuming 08' MSRP is reasonable and didn't go up more than say 2k from 07'). I told the dealer if they will put it in writing that they'll sell me the car @ MSRP on delivery I will place an order. They said OK. To those who have placed orders for 08's, did you do the same or better? How have you agreed on a price when pricing has not been released yet? I've read stories on the forum about folks who've given a deposit waited months then the dealer decides he wants to add a 5k mark-up.

I was suprised too when they said a $7000 non refundable deposit was required when a couple of other dealers were only asking for $1000 refundable. But I went with Kirbeck because they could get me one by July or early August and I will definitely be buying the car.

Yes, on my sales agreement it states that the price will be MSRP, whatever that turns out to be. I've heard that the price increase will be small. On another note, I changed the color to Victory Red/Ebony.

That's totally out of line, both the amount and the fact that it is non-refundable. Is the factory order that odd that they couldn't sell it if you backed out, how much volume do they do? One thing for sure, if they're selling it for MSRP, the days of inflated markups are definitely over.

Default Use our forum dealer

Carl Jackson @ Boardwalk took a $1000 deposit and is selling the Z at MSRP. He is an honorable person and a real car guy.

So, it can handle the the LS7 base just fine...
u wont really notice the difference unless you owned or drove an 06-07 model. to me, this is the best upgrade for the 08 period! i would love to feel the difference in shift pattern and feel.
u can read the GM press release at corvetteconti.com under 08 vette preview, and u will see the details, the deal here is they dont really point out the Z06 changes, other than 3LZ and onstar is standard next year. 3LZ is really just two tone leather stiching, sienna or linen, unless u get a AO, VY or JB i would stay wiith the 2LZ. congrats, and if u are in NC i will glad to let u drive an 07 Z06 to see the difference in a T56 and a TR-6060

Anybody knows if this 08 Z06 is going to have the retuned rear shocks that C&D test it?.....

What about the improve steering feel? A small or big improvement in this area?

A $7,000 deposit and MSRP on an 2008 is absolutely STUPID.... .......
especially when there are other sponsor dealers on this forum selling less than MSRP......all you have to do is a little bit of shopping around to get a good or a great deal.......come on guys...stop paying MSRP for these cars......you only hurt yourself and others in the long run!!!!

The party is over. Again the party is over. Supply has caught up with demand. So don't let these dealers jerk you around. Don't pay any more than msrp & shortly after the 08's come out you'll see the discount's start.(some will be discounting right now cause these dealers are all tea leaf readers & they know the demand for the Z is definitely headed south from where it's been). Not because the Z06's aren't great cars, it's just only so many people want $ 80,000 toys except an unlimited supply of car nuts like us.

same interior as mine...its a great way to go! breaks up the ebony very nicely.

If you're shooting for 1500hp, the LS7 is NOT the block you want.
