2007 C6 Z06 with all options, weight is 3180 lbs
The GM specified 3132 lbs is a 2006 C6 Z06 with no options.
This thread seems to agree that a fully loaded 2006 C6 Z06 2LZ with Nav is 3175 lbs. Add 3 lbs for the SMC roof and 2 lbs for some other changes and the 3180 lbs is dead on.

There is no significant weight difference between a 2006 and a 2007 if they have the same options.

I was wrong about the 50lbs figure; I was going by the 3132 figure and not the "C&D" figure... need to compare apples to apples.
C&D's 2007 figure is 3180 for a loaded car.
C&D's 2006 figure is 3147 for a loaded car. (click here).... for a 33lb difference.
33lbs.. sounds reaonsable for a different roof.. onstar.. added sound insulation... and various other crap they do behind the scenes that we'll never know about...

Damn... it'll be a day or two before the mailman delivers my copy of Car & Driver.
Nice to hear that the General... "revised" the shocks to improve the handling on the 07 !!!
I understand they softened the rear suspension... to get the power down quicker... when exiting the corners.

I'm looking forward to reading that issue AND the inevitable avalanche of excuses and denials from 6speedonline. We'll see lots of "doesn't matter if it's faster than the P car, it's still a Chevy", albeit one that kicks major ***!

Looks like they gave the Porsche an amazing 11 point deficit based on price. Take that away, and they still would have rated the Porsche the higher scoring car on points alone. The debate will always continue.

Not really. All they are saying is that the porsche is not worth the money...........! The Z is worth every penny!

So I've got my 06 Z06 shocks in my garage and we just read the part #'s on my friends 07 Z06.They are the same, would'nt revised shocks have a differant part #?
#39
If they only changed the damping rate it would be an internal change to the shocks and wouldn't necessarily warrant a new part number.
