One of those trying to make fun of Vettes. Yes Vettes are bigger and maybe heavier than that small car, but a better driver can do more precise slarom than that.

Isn't it funny? Europeans don't worry about sales of American cars in Europe, so they make fun of American cars and American in public, but it cannot be done in USA because then European importers will hurt.

All that power sliding kills speed.. not to mention is that other car AWD? I think it is... Cool clip thanks for posting.

You are kind of right....but still I've seen one or two american TV-shows were they made some serious fun of French people.....Maybe this is the come back from France.

Don't take it to seriously. The Z06 still came off as a winner even though the Renault was driven by a rally legend. Take the cars to a track or the strip and we all know what will happen.

Congaman,
I don't know about the French, but I do know that the people from Sweden I've met are all extremely nice people and not so bitter towards the US like the rest of Europe. It's nice to have friends.

Looked to me like the guy driving the Z was having so much fun power sliding through the cones that he wasn't trying to win.
Too bad I don't know what the hell the people were saying!
That's OK ,see who they ask for help when there's some sort of trouble????????

The show host was saying that the Z06 driver was giving a show to everyone. Of course the Z06 would have won if the driver was not powersliding. Throughout the whole video, they were all saying how the Z06 was a power monster.

Actually it was all in good fun. I speak French fluently and nobody was making fun of the vette. The announcer said the Cleo won but acknowledged that the driver of the vette did a 180.

That was great, I sent it to all my autocross budies.

It reminds me of our autocross races, we are all just in it for fun, so most of us would not be considered great drivers, except one.

and the one great driver has the worst car, its a 1985 volvo 240 wagon, NON-Turbo. But he is always within a second or two of my 95 Z28 and my friends lotus elise.

Maybe this video will give them hope that when I get my Z06 next month that the lotus will be able to keep up (yeah right)

Blah, who cares? A Honda Fit probably has a higher slalom speed than the Z06, that does not mean I want to own one or drive one on a roadcourse.

I asked four woman at work that I showed the video to and all picked the Vette as the hottest car!! That is good for me!!

I knew one guy in college that had some sort of Renault car.........never could get the right parts to make the car run.

Oh and the French dislike Americans very much, (my cousins went to France last year) even worse if you are in the armed forces.

That vidoe is a classic. It was all done in jest and actually rather respectful of the Z06-at least that was my take.

Now, of course, had the Z06 been driven by our own Congaman, assuming he started off in the correct gear [peals of laughter], he would have smoked that little Clio.

The Vette spent more time swinging the rear out then negotiating the cones.
It looked like the Vette won, NO?
