no, dealers are running scared because gm handcuffed them with 6k in price increases over the past 5 months...couldn't happen to a nicer bunch

Plus, it's that time of year where sales always go soft and incentives come out. Normal people don't shop for sportscars in December and January. Only us whackos.

Winter is coming for most of us in the US and not too many sportscar is going to be sold in those months especially up North. Dealers don't want to get stuck paying for floodplan costs, end of year taxes, and other things that cut down their total profit.

If some dealer start offering even supplier price on a Z06 pretty soon, i wil bite no matter what the color is

yes, winter is a downtime for vette sales but any appeal to seasonality to explain the abrupt and major decreases in prices for the base and Z06 IMO are not sufficient.

With Z06 supply barely starting to catch up with demand IMO prices should NOT be falling. However, there is a mirage factor here. Just read a post yesterday from a guy who was VERY proud of himself for ordering a new Z06 for some $2000 off msrp.

What a joke! So he is getting to order the car at a price with maybe a third of very recent price hikes off?

Either there is big news to come that will destroy demand for present Z06s and C6s OR the stealers have worked through all the 'gotta have it now' boys and are dealing with people who won't pay anything that is asked.

I am looking to buy an '08 IF engine and manual trans are new. My backup WAS to buy a Z06 and eat peanut butter sandwiches for lunch. However, the power of the internet and forums like this one have educated me on the severe shortcomings of the Z06 clutch and I don't want one. The C6 clutch is bad enough.

I still say the Z06 is a very nice car and is worth mid to upper sixty thousand range and NO more.

Z06 is worth every penny of it's $70K price tag. it outperforms $160,000+ dollar super cars.

Yup.

I will add that all car sales are down. When you see Toyota, Lexus, MB, BMW's discounted it says how slow it really is.

Normal cycle for this time of the year. December will pick up some for some models due to end of year spending for corporations.

if you want to be a yuppie who cares more about having something with italian leather and carbon fiber dashes, go spend the extra dough and buy a ferrari/porsche. However at the end of the day, you a** is getting smoked by Z06s all day long.

I wouldn't buy a z06 for all that, it all about speed and handling baby with some good looks to match

What part of the country do dealers have to invest in "floodplan costs?"

Funny how news of one person getting a Z06 at a discount means the prices are falling through the floor. It's also funny how so many people that don't own a Z06 know so much about them.

NO! Those of us who held the line on MSRP and not a penny higher have brought the prices into line, and those who "had to have it now" and drove the price up are now gone! Thus, we are back to MSRP! By the way, most dealers are the last ones on the block that would know anything more than we do on this website about what's next for the Corvette!

Like what?? Don't say interior b/c it is not bad as everyone says.

Even if it didn't perform the way it does, it still would be the most under-priced car in the world going just by looks alone. The car is just toooo damn georgous & sexy. What other car under $100K looks better?? Hek, they sell Butt Ugly Porsche 911 TT's for $120K....talk about gouging direct from the Manufacturer.
