Warning Front Brakes Air Ducts hit Tires when turning!!
I just found this post by (Z06_505) over at Digitalcorvettes.com
He found out that when the wheels are turned to either extremes, the inside sidewall of the tires contacts the front brake rotor air cooling duct.
The striking angle may change and provide a rigid edge of plastic that could cut the tire under high speed cornering.
Check out a picture of the tires hitting the brake duct at the original post here:

So you mean there is nothing to worry about?
If you scroll down to (Z06_505)'s reply then you will see a pic of the front air duct actually hitting the tire!
What about the bolts that the thread starter was talking about. Should we trim them along with the ducts?

When that post was originally made, I checked my car. No problems. From what I can remember, no one else reported having this problem.
There is nothing to worry about.

I later realized the ducts (in my photo) hit the tire only when it was up on jacks and the tires dangling. The bolt issue was by someone else and the reason I started to investigate this on my own. He did have pictures of a groove in his tire, but I never thought it was the hood hinge bolt. He noticed the problem after tracking at Homestead with it's steep banks. I think it is possible that the ducts may rub under those conditions (steep banking at high speed). I am tracking Homestead in November and will be watching out for this. Better safe than sorry.

It appears based on inspection that it occurred during a sharp u-turn to the left. The groove cut in the R/H tire matched the scuff mark on the brake cooling duct. The hood latch bolts were trimmed based on not passing the "look right" test....way to many threads showing!!!
