I didn't see the Ford GT in this group. Seems like it should have been represented.

I got so frustrated with being jacked around by MP and others, I finally got my 2nd choice. A tungston GT. It's an awesome car, but still would like to add a Z06 to my collection.

Well, as the people on the BMW sites are making lots of excuses about the M6 loosing I can give you the facts.

Below is a video I made. You can see some of the races from the morning. After that the battery for my DV-camera was out of juice.

First you must know that this was my first time on a strip with the Z06. I'm more of a track guy so I was trying to find the right way to drive the Z06....took me some time.

As you can see most of the cars jumps ahead of me in the start. This is caused by the fact that I was starting in 2nd gear in stead of 1st Yes, I know....stupid me and all that so you don't have to give me rude comments....when I realized my mistake I was not give a chanse to have a re-match. I thought it didn't matter as I still was able to win the race (I tend to honour the winner no matter what). But I was wrong again as I can now see that many of the bimmer-people are having their hands full to make up excuses.....

Next year I'll do better....I will not only win I will k*ll!

In the after noon I was on the list to race against the GT2....when only 3 or 4 races was ahead of us we got the message that the day was over and no more races allowed.

If any car would be able to take the Z06 this day it would be the GT2 or the Porsche RUF which I also missed to race for the same reason.

I see. Great racing man. A stock GT2 would not beat your stock Z06, btw.. But, the GT2 and the F430 would be the second fastest there, right behind the Z06.

Rumor said that the GT2 had 550 Hp under the hood and I talked to the owner of the RUF who claimed that it had about the same.....I belived them when I saw them racing.

Oh ok. I thought you were reffering to a stock GT2 that would take out your Z06. That is why I said what I said.

Yes, a 550 bhp GT2 would beat your stock Z06.

Congrats on the wins. Imagine what you could have done if you were in 1st gear.. Great runs brutha..

On one hand, if you had started in first, not only would you walk away from the start, the effect would compound itself to the end and beaten them much, much worse. if you hadn't started out in 2nd and STILL won, there would be certain people right here on our own forum that would make excuses for the M6. So in a way it was good that you gave them the jump. Now there's no doubt.

BTW, were you using 2nd with all those other cars as well?

Yes, I was experimenting with the traction control (correct word in English?) as I thought I lost power due to the electronic controls. I know, I know .....I'm stupid...

My buddy has a GT2 and I have raped it several times easily. It would take more like 600hp to win. That is assuming you use 1st gear.

if you are talking about a stock Z06, then no, a GT2 would not need that much. But, if you are talking about a bolt on Z06, then yes it would need 600 bhp.

btw, when are you going to get you and your buddy racing on tape for me(us)??..

I don't understand why weight is such a big deal since this wasn't a standing start.

Nice runs. It's not everyday that you get to see races like this, but remember to start in first next time!

Congaman, I forgot to ask you, did you race the 997 TT? If you did, how bad did you beat it?

Weight is always a big deal. F=MA. It takes a force to accelerate a mass. The larger the mass, the larger the force required. The only time it does not matter is once you've reached the velocity where wind resistance is the limiting factor as opposed to mass. So there is little effect of mass on top speed but any acceleration test is still greatly affected by mass.

I've already been reprimanded for street racing twice so even if I had I wouldn't say.

Anyone have a link to that Z06 beating that motorcylce? PM me please if you do.
