Vette Doctors American Racing Series All the way better fit better merge collector, more power, better price. All stainless steel. No better header out there.

Stainless Works make some amazing headers. They are D port like the American Racing headers, and 31" long tube like the LG headers. They are the thickest ones you can get, as well....so they are the most durable. They also are the only brand I am aware of that offer a 2" primary. They come with Random Technologies polised cats and Random Technologies X-pipe, as well.

I purchased American Racing Headers intalled by Vette Doctors. They're very satisfactory, except during reasonably hard right turns, the engine moves just enough for one of the pipes to lean against the steering shaft. It has no effect on steering, but the vibration is very noticeable in the steering wheel. Price was good, sound is great for me (with high flow cats).

They have redone that pipe on L/s no more problems.

Mine sounds great, but it's not exactly a fair indication, since I did a cam at the same time.

The Stainless works do sound very good! However they state you have to drop the engine cradle to install them, and change out the dry sump lines with longer ones (provided). I'm not a drag racer, so the primary tube length on the American racing headers are too short for me. The Kooks do not have a merge collector. If the LGs fit better and had D shaped ports, I'd get those. Until then, no headers for me.

Sometimes it just boils down to one's preference in brands for whatever reason. We exclusively use Kook's on the C6Z06s we do. We have installed at least a dozen sets with absolutely no problems. There is plenty of clearance by the oil lines. They fit perfectly and install easily. We are very happy with the quality and performance of the Kook's.

So the steering is affected? That sounds dangerous. We use the Kooks and have never had a problem. Not to say the Stainless Works are bad, we have used there exhaust on other Corvettes and it is good.

Hmmm, no problem with my ARs. But I watched the guys at A&A Corvette do the install. Looks like it was some work to get them in there.

I like 'em.
