Kerbeck in Atlantic City, one of the highest volume dealers in the country will not take a deposit on the car nor confirm their existence. I would think that if it was definitely a go they would be "in the know".

get a lawyer to review your written deal. Otherwise as has happen before they slime out of it. Some of us will fall off the perch between now and 08. Buy now and enjoy even a used C6 which you will not take a great beating on dollar wise.

This dealer confirmed he will have allocation for this as of yet not approved for production car?

Actually, the dealer has not confirmed anything yet. The deal was, if they can get a Blue Devil, then they will sell me the car for $6000 over MSRP. If they can not get one, they will refund my deposit. I gave them a deposit so i can hold the spot for the car if one becomes available to them. After reading the posts, i guess i should probably try several dealers and hope one of them comes through.

I bought my Z06 in Sept, 2005 at msrp. My dealer sold their entire allotment at msrp last year. Any "extra" cars from GM or other dealers went on Ebay for market price. In 2007, entire allotment went for at least $5k over msrp. I guess they wised up!
I am 2nd in line for the SS or Stingray. It will go for market price I am told. Do not know if they will even get one. I would hope that GM would offer "fixed" pricing but don't expect it. Too many ways of getting around it - just ask the ferrari folks.

At around 100K price .... the Devil will be in unbelievable demand. They would sell 5000/yr .... if they desired to.
I'd guess 1.5-2K/ year will be built. If you think the Z is hard to obtain ... this car will be practically untouchable to the public.
I'd guess the premium to dealers will be 20K minimum.

If the Finance guy at the dealer knew someone took $6k for a car they can't deliver in this calendar year, he might be getting a little nervous.
It's definately against respectable accounting principles if not against the law. My dealer's finance guy sent me my $2k deposit back because they couldn't get me my car in calendar year 05'...I was kept in line though and I got my car in Feb. 06' with no deposit.

I think it's hilarious that a dealer that will make a mountain of cash profit on 100K plus sticker car, needs an extra 6 grand. If anyone at GM is smart they will jack the invoice price on this car through the roof and make some profit themselves instead of the scumbag who's only contibution to the deal was a car wash and sticking on a market adjustment.
The "big surprise" blunder of a low sticker price Z06 only resulted in the market adjustment ****** getting pig rich. This time the "big surprise" ought to be a market priced MSRP, and those mountains of profits go back into the development of future vettes. Not another new boat for the *****'s who put zero effort into the vehicle's success.

I can't see spending $105K when I can spend an additional $7-8K on a C6 ZO6 and make over 700hp
The whole time i've been reading this, that is exactly what I have been thinking. Headers/Cam/Tune, it might not be a "BLUE DEVIL" but it will be a devil, I promise!!! Plus, you'll still have $ for gas and a few mortgage payments

I can't believe a dealer would take a deposit on a non-confirmed car. Doesn't seem right. It's not the next model of a 430, TT, M3....
I'd feel more comfortable putting a deposit down on a C7. At least I know that will eventually be built.

Lets do the Math The 06Z was a production of 6,000+ Units for 2006, What did the dealers originally mark these up over MSRP to begin with $30-60K. The BD will be a 1500 units, Take a guess at how much these will be marked up, try $100K. The fastest Corvette(BD) ever and it will blow doors on the Z06. Personally I hope they build it but from a marketing standpoint its Stupid why have a BD in the line up that beats the Z06. Look at how profitable the Z06 has been to GM and its Dealers. If they build the BD then the Z will be the slower vette and it won't help Z sales.
