Stupid Porschephiles...
Just got my latest MotorTrend wherein some Porsche moron writes that the LS7 is hardly a world class engine like the 3.6 Porsche is. He goes on to cite that HP/displacement ratio is pitifully low for the LS7.
Do these guys really think that an engine's 'greatness' is simply it's HP/displacement ratio or the # of techno pieces involved?
Some of these guys really need to pull their head out of Porsche's derriere.

They only represent a different approach to get the same amount of airflow. What one should be concerned with is how many POUNDS/hp. Or even EXTERNAL size/hp. Some of these high tech whiz bang multivalve, OHC engines are HUGE, especially when they require turbos to get the desired power.
Try telling the Porschefiles that though.

Larger displacement engines are generally more durable. (Everything else being equal.) They make the same power as small engines with less stress on the internals. I'll keep a big inch motor without toys thank you very much!

Seem's like GM is looking at things a bit differently with the ZO-6. Check out 6.2 HP/LB-mid 11 ET's, 1.2G cornering, 20+ MPG and $70K pricetag. Nothing comes close. Porsche surely produces some excellent high HP/Litre powerplants at premium prices. The soon to be extinct $440K Carrera GT narrowly out performs the $70K Vette and consumes twice the fuel. It looks like advantage G.M. Some rag on the Vette's interior, but at a price well North of six figures, I have no problem with it.

Just for ***** and giggles I posted a similar title against Z06 owners on a well known P car forum. Will be interesting to see how many view or reply to it. For some reason I'm thinking it's not going to go anywhere as I think most P car owners are secure in their ***** size and won't care much. Should be an interesting experiment.

Although those high revs sound sweet.
