Default Big Brakes on the Z06

If you are thinking about a brake upgrade for the Z06, I snapped a couple of pictures of a Brembo upgrade using the Stock Wheels. No spacers were required

Don't know specs are available from Forum Vendors Lingenfelter and 21st Century Musclecar.

The good knews is you don't need Fikse or HREs to mount big brakes like Brembos are Baers on a C6 Z06.

Do you need brake upgrades?
Aren't these brakes designed to be good?

The brake dust is a bi--h but they will stop you on a dime..

The stock brakes are like boat anchors...not to mention very little pad selection and high pad prices.

I would switch to big brakes for the reduction in unsprung weight, ease and cost of pad replacement, and pad selection alone.

The better performance is just the icing on the cake.

Is it just me, or do the rotors appear to be turning in the wrong direction?

Do they have the same "forward tilt at the top" orientation on the other side, or does the other side have the "rearward tilt at the top" that I always thought was prefered?

Are the calipers heavier or the rotors? A 2 piece rotor in stock sizes would be easy to make and reduce weight.

The rotors are definitely the heavy piece. You're right, a lightweight 2 piece rotor which worked with the stock caliper would be a very cost effective improvement.

Looks Sweet!

How was the new tires? Can you feel any difference between them and the stock 325's? Someone here said they wouldn't handle as well.

Are those 345's on the rear? What size on the front? Could you post some more photos (different angles) of the wheels/tires to show how they fit? Thanks.

Forward tilt is what is recommended in the Eradispeed install instructions so I assume it the same for all.

Very nice!!

Why did you choose Brembo over the other brands? I have the MOVIT billet 6 installed. I went to the movit setup from a brembo setup.

Why did Gm not use the Brembo's in the first place? Was it a cost issue?
They used them on the CTSV.I would think if they are better than OEM
and considering the cost of this car that it would be stupid to not use the better brakes. The Viper Srt has Brembo's and I believe still holds the braking distance record and the car weighs much more.

It doesn't matter. All that used to matter was the directions of the internal cooling vanes. but GM doesn't care about that either.

Holes and slots can go any which way the maker desires.
