Z06 Production Stopped???
I am being told by the Fleet Guy I ordered my Z06 from that production on the Z06 is stopped, or may be stopped because of the company making the wheels is out of business.
Does anyone have information on this???
Thanks!

Ya I think this is the problem that held mine up with the polished wheels. Why is every company filing bankruptcy?? That is not a good sign. But the economy is doing great the Gov't says..

How bad do you have to run your business to have solid orders of at least 33,000 sets of wheels per year and you can't figure out how to keep it in the black?

Let's just say that sometimes the General drives a very hard bargain. If you have a misstep in production and have to trash a run of wheels because the General rejects them, you can have some real financial issues.
Let me clearly state, I have no knowledge of this situation. I do understand how tough GM can be on suppliers.

Just look into how many suppliers that sell to Wallmart have had to move their operations to China or have gone under.

As opposed to what? Paying for crap? Simple business: make crap, go out of business, make quality, make money!

You don't tell GM how much you want for a wheel, they tell you how
much they will pay and if you want the work you will try and do it for that amount.

I bet that a lot of the reason for reliability and QC issues GM suffers from probably amounts to a couple hundred bucks per car. Its GM that has the poor business accumen and its vendors are just a part of that house of cards.

Being a supplier to the domestic U.S. auto manufacturing industry is not a particular happy place to be these days (Delphi, Allied, etc.). For an interesting take on how GM screwed itself as badly as it has, check out an article that was on the Motley Fool (investment advisory) website earlier this week (www.fool.com).

Let me know when they file for the 7th or 8th time and then we might have something to worry about.
