No, he meant dupe as in duplicate I would assume. Didn't want to repeat the story and the link if someone had already reported it. Thanks for the confirmation of the review in the printed magazine.

I missed the episode. What did it run around their track? how did it place against the other supercars on the pole?

Well said!

They as much as admitted they had no clue what the car was capable of ... til Johnny took them for a spin and showed them what driving really is.

Not exactly an "OX KART" they discovered.

I don't think it's aired yet. And I believe that it won't air in the USA - as far as I know, Discovery Channel has canceled it and no one else has picked it up....

I watched part of a Top Gear (I think) TV show a while back where the Top Gear driver was so proud that he had driven a Viper around the 'Ring in under ten minutes.(The 2006 C6 does it in just under 8 minutes.) One of the 'ring drivers for hire (called taxi drivers), a german women, to show how terrible that was said she could drive a van in under ten minutes. She came close but they had given her what seemed like an underpowerd British Ford van, not like a van you would have in the US. It was a funny show and a good insight into the 'Ring.

Except for the fact it was a slow diesel Jag, and not a Viper.

I would be willing to bet YOU couldn't drive a car under 10 minutes either.

Sorry, I didn't catch the beginning of the show so I never saw what he drove so I didn't remember it correctly. I did remember the the german women's great accent when she said she could do it in a van and how terrible SHE implied his time was. My mistake on the facts.

Your right, I can't drive a car under 10 minutes - once I get in Corvette I can't stop driving.

This has been discussed before. People w/o prior track experience probably could not.

Those with annual autox / track experience would probably get into the 9's.

The best of drivers could get into the high to mid 8's.

Got to figure the pros (like Jan and Johnny), are at least 10-15% faster than we are.

this is a relatively light car - especially impressive given the size of its engine.
Confusing displacement with the actual engine size.

So you only saw the shots from inside of the car? So how come you did mistake a viper interior with Jag interior? Have you even seen a viper interior? I guess not since no viper offer a mapply wood inserts.

Also, that lady was born on N-burg village and has done this course (her words) over 10,000 times.

Very smart to send johnny over to drive it, when they tested the base c6 and let the nsx beat it on a straight run, I was dying.. Then that little british guy said it was so hard to shift, and I was saying, well get the damn purse off your shoulder The z06 will get the respect that it deserves , because it demands it

Make that "demanding enough to make a PORTUGUESE journalist admit in print that he ISN'T A RACE DRIVER"... wow, that must be a rarity!
