How many C6ers are first time vette owners?
I made the step in 02 and purchased my first vette after trying out the competition. I drove a Boxter, M3, SLK all in my price range. When I finally test drove a vette I was blown away, no contest, gave my deposit and picked it up on a Saturday. Since then my enthusiasm has not diminished one bit, every time I get onto the car it is a treat. I did not think that a car could change me but this one did, all for the better . I am planning a C6 in the future but for now my C5 suits me just fine. So will you share your story?

First one for me as well. I drove 5.0 LX Mustangs in the 80's and Z 28'S in the 90's till now. The c6 was the first Corvette that I simply had to possess. I never saw anything about the c4 to want one. I liked the c5's but not enough to make the upward leap. I am frugal in spending and my 1sx for 44k is at the upper limit of what I would spend for a car and what a car I got for the money--horsepower, handling, comfort, and hard acceleration--very hard----and being so cheap I smile everyday about saving 10k for the isb with all the electronics that I didn't want and wouldn't use.
It gripes me that I didn't wait until the discounts and loyalty cash but I console myself with the fact that isx's are damn hard to find and are on constraint right now---otherwise I could have an 05 c6 for about 40k.

First timer here and I couldn't be happier. Had a 2001 M3 that I thought was the "end all be all" for a performance car.......long story short....C6 kills it in many ways..and I am not just talking about pure power.

Always
My first Vette. I'm 56 and when 10 a young guy in town bought a red & white Vert. It was hot. A year of so later he had a fender bender in town. Every kid I knew was at the accident site taking pieces of fiberglass. I had a 4"x6" piece that I kept till I went to college. Mom cleaned out my room and never saw it again. Now all the kids are out and I can afford it.

C1 starters
Well, I had two 1958 C1 Vettes back in the early 1970's . I sold one of them for around $ 1,000 ( a good price then ) . Then I bought another one and later traded it for a Triumph 650 motorcycle . They were cherry too ! Who would know ? I now own a 2005 C6 LMB . I love this car . Quite a machine. I love every minute behind the wheel . It is not my daily driver though, so I enjoy it even more when I get to drive her .

Owned a 2001 C5 prior to purchasing the C6.
The C5 was a GREAT car and the C6 improves upon it.
I will say this, driving the C5 does make me understand and (for me) appreciate the advancements that GM has put into the C6.

I'm a first time Vette owner and bought the C6 fully loaded. I swore off buying another American car after owning a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Ford.
Well, I didn't even see the C6 in person and didn't test drive one either. Just went to the Chevy dealer and dropped 11k down for them to build and ship it to me.
I've never owned a performance car before and I love driving this thing everywhere. I do have a smile on my face when I'm driving it. I've been racing Superbikes on the tracks here in the U.S. and in Europe so it takes a lot for a car to impress me. Well, this one does. No regrets.

First time for me... I used to own an E36 M3. When I bought that, I was choosing between that and a C5. At the time, I could only have one car, and needed the practicality of the M3. It was a great car! A close friend of mine bought a C5 and I got to drive it every so often. It was a great car as well, but didn't make me regret buying my M3. When I saw the C6 at the auto show, I knew I had to get one. Since I knew the driving dynamics of the C5, I hoped I had an accurate forecast of what the C6 would be like to drive. When I picked up my C6, I was in fact completely shocked at how much better it actually drove. I love it to death, I just wish I could drive it more!

This will be my first Corvette and first GM product since my 1980 Z-28. I'm coming from a 2002 Lexus SC430 which has been an amazing vehicle, but certainly doesn't make the adrenal system squirt when you drive it.
Unfortunately, I just found out that my TPW was pushed back 3 weeks so I'm still waiting

There was a poll on this very subject and I think about 60% were 1st time Corvette owners. The remaining 40% had owned vette(s) sometime in their past.

Seems as if a lot Euro buyers of the past have become c6 owners. The styling, handling, and power for the price will have that effect. My wife works with a woman whose husband had an 80 k 2003 911. When I had her pass it along that I'd be more then willing to ''play'' with his Porsche---within two weeks he went and spent [mortaged] 130 k for a leftover 04 911 turbo----won a lot of converts with the c6 but some guys egos are such that they would rather go in deep hock. BTW , the PORSCHE is a beautiful car and if driven and shifted correctly will handle the c6. That's why there is a z06 coming soon .
