inventory search statewide?
Hi Guys,
Is there a way I can search dealer inventories state wide on Chevrolet.com
I always have to put in a city or zip code. It makes it hard to search powerfully.
It would also be great to be able to choose color and options et.

It is certainly possible to write some simple scripts to query the gmbuypower database (using zip code lists) for all the dealers in the US. Once you have the BAC number for each dealer, you can write a script to query the inventory of each dealer periodically and create a database of in stock cars along with their options. Then simply run your scripts periodically to update your database and track dealer inventory. Once you have the inventory database on your computer, you can script queries from your local database to find any kind of info you want like where cars are located with which options, how many cars have been sold, how long cars remain on dealer lots, etc. Take a look at the URL's when you search gmbuypower with your web browser. They are just http commands to query the gmbuypower database. The trick is to figure our what commands do what and how to parse the web pages for the info you want. There are tools to script downloading of web pages, like wget and tools like perl to parse the downloaded web pages. I have written some simple scripts to do just that and am nearly done with my dealer database. I have over 3100 dealers so far.

I cant even get this guy to configure my order for me. when we have spoken to each other the contact is always initiated by me. at this point I'd like to get my deposit back and go with a more reputable dealer. any suggestions?. Looking for a lage volume dealer that wont have a huge mark up and can get the car to me sometime in my lifetime"
Be careful who you point your finger at-when you do, you have three more pointing back at you

gmbuypower.com is how I found my C6. One Friday morning I got up and did a dealer search. Low and behold the exact C6 I wanted was at a local Chevy dealer! The salesperson told me it was ordered for stock. He took me back to a dark isolated part of the service dept. with no other cars around it. He turned on the lights and it was love at first sight! There it was and still in it's wrapper (plastic on the seats, stuff on some of the body panels to protect it from acid rain, window sticker on the windsheild, ect.) He wiped my drool off the C6 and took me to his office where he gave me an unbieveable deal. GMS pricing plus a HUGE amount for my trade (pristine 03 coupe). I nearly peed my pants. I still can't believe it! My C6 Coupe: blk/ebony, auto, transparent top, polished wheels, mrc and 1sb.

All you people tired of waiting on your ordered C6's. Try using www.gmbuypower.com to see if the C6 you want is sitting on the lot of a local Chevy dealer. That's what happened to me. Give it a shot. You may get lucky.

Actually I've used that site before but thought you were looking for deals on C6's. I understood what the site does. Sorry for the confusion.
