Default Bowling Green Bugs???

I was looking forward to driving my new baby after work today, but with the second day of straight rain, I decided to keep her in the garage. Mainly for the other idiots out on the wet roads. So I decided to give her a quick inspection and check the oil, etc. You'll never guess what I found in the engine area??

On the passenger side, in front of the oil dipstick, and under the hood shock, were about 4-5 big, dead, black beetle and wasp type things I picked them out obviously.

There is a flat area there that seems to be a good "collection" area for debris maybe. Don't know if the bugs were there from Bowling Green, the trip to TX on the truck, the few drives I've been on (only 102 miles on her so far), or from dealer prep. The area IS below the hood lamp, which attracts bugs. Any way to turn that thing off??

The hood pretty much seals up nicely when closed so I'm not sure how they got there. But I'm going to go look over the rest of the car and engine for signs.

Take a look at yours and see what you've "collected."

The only bug I had was that my CD player would not play tracks above 9. But it was put to death.

Is the light on in your fridge when the door is shut?

Maybe get a yellow bug light for that too?

Now you've done it! You'll have everybody complaining that
their car doesn't have the O.E. bugs!

Hmmmm...... I can see the aftermarket possibilities now!

Being the generous people that they are, maybe GM will give you a new car if you send them pictures of it!!

Seriously though, it's probably anybody's guess as to how they got in there. I do know that on the C5 you could by extra seals that went around the hood opening and they were supposed to cut down on the dust that got into the engine compartment. I'm not sure if they are available for the C6 yet though.

Good luck

The C6 comes off the line with those hood seals already...they're nice too. A good C6 improvement.

Check the window sticker. I'll bet they were an option they charged you for.
