Default Automative or Manual

In reading the 2005 C6 ordering guide it makes the point that GM expects a 65% penetration with automatics for C6's - how many are ordering autos v manual and what color combo's?

I don't really think you're going to get enough response to help you gage an accurate answer to these 2 questions, but I'm getting auto with a Precision Red (I hope) coupe with black interior.

I change my mind daily about auto vs manuel. Today I am all for the 6mn. An auto would seem to be a waste of a nice tach.

I would bet that the actual sales break down for the last few years would be enough for GM to make an accurate estimate of this one.

Automatic transmissions accounted for over 70% of the Corvettes sold in 1997 and 1998 before the hardtops and Z06s came along. That dropped to about 50% when the hardtops came along. When the Z06 came along, autos. dropped to 38.8% (in 2001).

For 1997 through 2001, there were usually more torch red vettes made than any other color (20% to 25%). Black accounted for 17% to 21% most of those years. Some shade of silver was usually 3rd, with 13% to 18% of the vettes made.

My Firehawk is an A4, drives just fine. My Vette will be a six speed. I'll have the best of both worlds if I can keep the Hawk when I get the Vette.

Ain't nuthin wrong with an auto.

Ever since the 70's I have had automatics. A manual transmission got in the way of my gold chains and it wouldn't allow me to pimp correctly. I always thought that the arm rest was in the passenger seat not on the stick.

Ordered a Silver/Black with Auto Z51

Still go the 66 with a 5 speed!

That might have had something to do with the increased price of the manual. 1000$ i believe. I guess when your buying a 50,ooo dollar car it shouldn't matter, but I think i was enough for a few to say is a manual worth an extra grand.

Default tranny and color

"all corvettes are red" a good book
"all sports cars should be stick" I think I'll write this one
My c6 coupe -mag red- cash interior Mn6-1sb -pol wheels-nav-mag ride control (guess I'll hear from Z51 fans)
All corvettes are great regardless of you persanal choice of options.

I do that now in parking lots sometimes. I've had to look and see which keys are in my pocket so I can remember which car I drove . (I'm only 34 too). I have 3 cars, so a 4th can't be much worse
