Default Why so many constraints?

When I bought my '02 it was the base coupe with nothing added and I sold it in Feb. to get the C-6.

So, when I put down my $1000 for the same base coupe with nothing added...it's one of the ones on constraint!

Does that mean that GM will is making all the first coupes factory options loaded and the bare bone coupes will be built next year, and what would the reasoning be behind that? :mad

For at least the first 4 weeks, all coupes will be 1SB. During the ramp-up of a new model, it's easier to build them all the same. Besides, it's more money for GM by adding the 1SB option price to each car.

Thanks Another Yellow

Another question, what does the 1SB have that the 1SA doesn't?

About $4K in stuff that ranges from useful to useless

1SB has 1SA equipment + Auto-dimming mirrors, HUD, Heated Seats, Homelink, Compass, Memory package, Power telescopic wheel, 6-disc CD & 7 speaker Bose.

Another reason an order may have not been pulled is that there will be more constraints than those listed so far. I doubt all 8 colors will be available for the first 2 weeks of production. I think it is possible that none of the extra cost colors, (Mag Red, Yellow and Blue) will be available because of the extra steps necessary to paint and maybe also White as it is a low demand color. Another possible constraint is the G90 performance axle for the automatic.

Does anyone have information on the ramp up schedule? I would think that during these first few weeks the plant would try to build a few of each option package to make sure things are going smooth, even though they may concentrate on one particular package overall.

Just wondering, what makes the extra cost colors require more steps to paint?

The premium colors use a tinted clear coat.
