The C6LP-SE is a front license plate mount for the Corvette C6. The Corvette community was extremely disappointed after the revealing of GM's solution, and change seemed unlikely due to engineering concerns expressed by GM. C6LP-SE is designed to address most community concerns while respecting engineering concerns.

The C6LP-SE mounts to the inside of the mouth, making holes less noticeable upon removal. The C6LP-SE is lowered slightly to flow with the car and hide the underside mount, while not obstructing the mouth. The height of the C6LP-SE is reduced to minimize visual effect and groves are added to hold the plate. The 'flush with the body' idea is scrapped to remove the brick-like qualities. A small amount of padding is added behind the mount to prevent scraping and scratching on the nose. The C6LP-SE is a two-piece system that allows the larger portion to be detached easily while the remaining piece is not obvious.

Still doesn't work for me. Need to get the plate off of the nose. Maybe move it to an offset position at the end of the grill.

At least Phantom has made an concerted effort to come up with something that is not as obtrusive as GM's design. That is something more than 99% of us on here can say! I applaud your efforts Phantom. I don't think that it is that bad looking. It would be interesting to see a prototype of this on a C6 when they hit the streets.

The front plate frame should have been inset into the nose so it could be covered with a plate if you live in a state where you don't need to run a front plate.

To re-state the obvious, it will always look better without a plate. It's a matter of taste whether the plate looks better centered or offset to the driver's side, but I think this design is a definite improvement, and the best we can hope for without reducing air intake.

I wouldn't use the GM FLB but I would use this one. This is what I expected GM to come out with in the first place.

GM's decision to conform the FLB to the body is just ugly.

Is it crappy? You can bet your Corvette that this is a crappy mount. However, what it all comes down to is that mine is significantly less crappy than the GM option.

I wish I could do better, but my options are rather limited. The license plate really cannot be moved from its current location, except for to the left or the right (which my mount can handle). Making the holes in a less obvious spot makes the design slightly awkward, but I hid most of that fairly efficiently. The only other real options (other than a time machine) are to replace the entire front fascia with something more stylistic like this or this.

I mean, given the option of the brick (GM's LP mount) or my LP mount, which would you chose? (Hmmm...maybe I should have created a poll.)

I did a quick test moving the mount, and it appears that you can move it left and right with ease and it won't cause problems. Took a quick screen-shot...I'm not sure exactly where people want it (except the center)...so I'll need recommendations for the location before I create more pictures.

It's a Corvette not a Semi Truck, putting it to the side would make it worse. The center is the only logical location.

Move it to the side and then down into the grill area next to the park/running lights.

Moving it to the side and in front of the intake would probably be a disaster, both aerodynamics and engine bay ventilation.

Moving the plate to any place other than somewhere in the center is a much greater eyesore than making GM's mount 2 inches thicker. You'd have options with my mount, but I'd recommend the center.
