I've been reading over some of the esteemed members critique of the new C6. Certainly I, myself, have looked over the C6 from every conceivable angle, given what we have to view.

Barring all GM's "purported" engineering improvements, which of course have not been owner tested and trial proven over the long haul, I do not see any marvelous improvement in with regard to overall looks and stylish design.

What I see is retro in design.
The rear end of this car reminds me greatly of the 1986- 1990 production runs, which cannot possibly be considered a futuristic, style improvement.
Is this to say I dont think it's a nice car??? Not at all.
I do, however, believe that the C5 rear is far superior in design, as looks go.

The front end of the C6 , although not bad looking at all, seems to say "Hello, do you like my spin off the Mitsubishi 3000GT/Eclipse???????
In comparison, the C5 seems to have a much more stealthy look from a dead on front end shot. In other words, comparing the C6 front end style to the C5, would be like comparing a P40 warhawk to a Stealth fighter, in my opinion of course.
The reason I say this is because I've seen the dead on front shot comparison another poster reviewed on another thread.
Based on this, there is no way I can be convinced that the C6 is a better looking car from these 2 particular points of view. It's NOT.

I really dont see what the rave is about.
It's a different looking car, NOT a better looking car.

Many people are so quick to say the C6 is not a better looking car then the C5. You would probably get much less abuse from other forum members if you changed the way you said what you said. Rather then saying the C6 is not better looking then a C5 say that you prefer the C5 to the C6. What looks good is a matter of opinion and nothing else, evident by the number of people that will run out and buy an Aztec or Element. I know I am with many others when I say I like the C6. I do not expect everyone to like it, but it would be nice if people would make the distinction between preferences and fact. This would probably result in a much friendlier environment in the C6 forum.

Not saying anyone here is. I think alot of people are hating on the new C6 since they wont be able to get one and of course want to know there car is better.

Just what it seems to me.

Dosent really matter to me I love the new C6 from what I have seen. But I love my car too! If I had the money I would buy a new Vette but I would keep my C5 too :D :thumbs:

Everyone has opinions and that is OK... makes other car makers happy I suppose.. it would sorta be boring if everyone had one :jester

I really like what they have done so far with just seeing pics... but I am going to hold all my harsh opinions and judgements until I have seen and driven the car... I will have one, its just a matter of when.... :cheers:

True. That 400hp engine is a total unknown. And thicker, heavier rotors, who really knows what impact that will have on braking? Wider rear tires? I'll believe that when I put my own tape measure to it. Then there's these "HID" headlights -- an unproven technology to be sure.

Cannot possibly? So style is a factual science, eh? Whip out the bunsen burner and beakers, pal, and publish your findings.

I think C6 has a nice ****. Not perfect, but then neither is C5's and I have no problem staring at it for long periods of time.

And whatever you think of the diffuser's material, it's certainly more functional and thus "futuristic" than C5's underside, which just sort of hangs like a curtain over the mufflers.

Some would say "boring" or "dated" instead of "stealthy." But what do they know?

Wow, I must have missed that thread. Could you post the P40 / Stealth fighter comparison pics here? Or maybe a link? I think both planes look cool. Wish I could say the same about C5 and C6 noses, but they can't make everybody happy every time out.

To you. To me too. But when it gets 500hp next year, it'll look a whole lot prettier. :-)

This reminds me of when the C4 and the C5 came out. I believe like many mention, you have to see the car in person and let it grow on you(in time). Design wise the C6 is an evolutionary C5. Better drag, more power, smaller though it weights almost the same, better interior. Yes, I probably won't like certain aspects of the C6 design, you can't please everyone. Go LSU..

I don't know why people are jumping all over this post. He didn't say he liked the Eclipse better or that he was even contemplating buying one.

I agree with the statement that it's a different looking car, not necessarily a better looking one. I'll have to see it in person, but so far, I like the C5 better. This is a good thing, as I won't have the urge to run out and order a C6. That may change once the C6 Z06 comes out though :D
