Re: c6 viper wanabe (LT1driver)
No doubt opinions will be flying about the newest arrival to the Vette stable.
Good, bad or indifferent, this is one gorgeous car. Chevrolet did a great job and it follows the same evolotionary thinking that brought the C5 from the C4 and C3. If you want nastalgia, dwell in the restoration arenas, buy old cars and have your way. This isn't a wannabe 60's car. It's pure modern times muscle and it ain't going away.
You would only expect a Vette to be on the cutting edge. The design for the times and performance that will stay ahead of compettion. C5's and C4 ZR1's have set the pace. We've hopefully left the days of full on rattling equipment.
If it took the Euros and the Japs to spank us a little at our own game now and then through the times, we've obviously learned something here and came back that much stronger. It's apparent we have.
My guess is, after a short time many of you will come around in your own time and come to love this car. This is a winner!

Re: c6 viper wanabe (ghostRder)
i don't know how a lot of people see the C6 looking similar to the viper (from the front). i can understand the similarities in the vents and the creases on the door...but the front of the C6 doesn't look anything like the Viper. sure, the lights are exposed and have similarly shaped lights, but other than that...the front of the C6 is sleeker looking that the Gen III Viper (the Viper looks more rounded in the front).
in all, when we see this car, we definately won't be mistaking it for anything other than a vette.

if you don't see the similarity from the front, you are a) kidding yourself, b) blind.
