did the value of used C5's just become stronger?
well ???
Any HP gains in the 2005 C6 can be easily matched on the C5 with a few easy bolt-ons... so the higher HP aspect of the C6 may become a moot point.

I think some people like the stock (factory) aspect of cars. I for one would prefer the higher HP in the C6 to a modded C5.

Regardless of what one might think of the C6, the value of a used C5 did not just become stronger. Even new C5s are still sitting on showroom floors at discounted prices.

And what do you think a C6 could do with a few of the same bolt-ons? :skep:

Maybe C5s are more valuable to the people who already own them and don't like the C6.
But to the rest of the world, C6 is not so ugly that it will send people flocking to a technically inferior vehicle. That's just silly.
Even if there was such a revolt, it'd be a temporary spike at best. Look at the BMW 7 Series for guidance.

Yes.......
For example, I will not run out to buy a C6 (IMHO c5.5) without substancial trade in value or substanical discount off list. To me, he new model did not outdate the old model like c2 to c3 or c3 to c4 and even c4 to c5. Which is a good thing and as posted increased the C5 used value.
I still like the new vette. They got to watch the price though...$57 for a loaded Vert.

i think the intro of the underwhelming C6 will help to slow the RATE of depreciation on the C5, but not make it stronger. that would be impossible on such a mass produced car like the C5. maybe in 20+ years that'll change, but i wouldn't bet $ on it. if you want appreciating automobile, buy a classic from the 50's/60's now.

No it just dropped more.. the C6 will carry the performance torch for the z06, while having better interior, and a cheaper price.

A used C5 isn't going to be worth poopie when used C6's become plentiful.
The C6 may have a temporary effect on the rapid declining C5 prices
simply because incentives and large discounts on them will not be available for sometime.
I really don't care about resale on any new vehicle I have purchased. I buy them to wear them out just like a home appliance or a pair of shoes.
I'm undecided as to what I think of the C6. So far I'm not that impressed, but I sure don't think that it would substantially lessen the hit I would take if I sold my C5

Sorry Mag Red but wishful thinking does not equal reality. ( :) inserted as a disclaimer of ill will ) 50 more HP w/ the same gas mileage, 400 RPM higher redline, LS6 torque at (400 rpm?) a lower RPM, stiffer frame, one point lower Cd, heated seats (not a biggie to me), navigation and Onstar (not a biggie to me), 6 CD in dash and a stereo that is hopefully better, bigger brakes, better Z-51 package all add up to a technically superior vehicle. :chevy :yesnod: C6 section is starting to sound a lot like the C4 section except in this case it is the C6 that is getting bashed (by wishful thinking) instead of the C5 (by wishful thinking)
