I'm not impressed with the C6 at this point
Thanks for posting. I've got to say that as the image gets a little sharper I am finding less and less to like about the C6, though. To note:
Don't like the knife edge fenders.
Don't like the way the hood looks (what you can see of it)
Don't like the treatment to the targa top.
Don't like the bug eyes (should have unequal size reflectors)
Don't really much care for the door handles (styling lifted from the 350Z - already looks old hat)
In short, aside from some performance odds and ends (drilled/slotted rotors - gimme a break - I've had Eradispeeds for years) it looks like a pretty subtle evolution of the C5, and not much at that. What's the advantage in a C6 for those of us who've already modified our C5s? I don't see it yet, but maybe I'll be proven wrong.

the hood still looks strange to me. look how it is just a straight line by the windshield. the two corners there seems so wrong. is it a decoy?

Re: NEW C6 SPY PICS WITH HEADLIGHTS!!!!!! (DMH)
I'm just wondering about the possibility that these test mules being spied are purposely looking like a C5, and may have little in common with that the final C6 will actually look like. I'm not talking about all the masking done to make it look like a C5. I mean creating special body panels to make it look like a C5, knowing that the car will be spotted during testing.
I'm reading the book "All Corvettes are Red" now, and they go into detail about how they did the testing for the C5. They had cars that had a modified C4 body but with a C5 drivetrain and chassis underneath. They had modified Camaros with the C5 chassis and drivetrain underneath (called Cormaros).
They really went to great lengths to hide the actual body from the spy photographers. I'm just wondering if these cars being spotted are the same kind of thing, and the C6 will actually look significantly different.

First, I think that is definitely the case. The "styling" of the spy cars, if you can call it that, is not consistent with what GM has suggested (elements of the SS concept at the rear etc.). Also, the panels all fit poorly (rear hatch, hood etc.). Lastly, the cars we see still have the C5 A-pillar.
Second, I hope what we see is not the real C6, because it ain't much to look at, frankly. It's one ugly-azz car compared to the C5 and C3.
Hopefully the final product will look something like the Vlammen concept.

Man, I haven't been this excited since I saw "Major League." Piece by piece the "sexy" picture is revealed, only to find it wasn't worth the mystery. The headlights in particular aren't very impressive.

I am thinking that your idea could be correct ... or ... since there are at least 5 to 10 different mules ... each one has a different set of correct body panels ... they are able to test without anyone seeing the whole car ... any full body test can be done indoors ... or in more secure locations ...
