C6 seems to = very small improvements
With news like this...
The C6 will have a longer wheelbase and shorter overall length.
The C6 will have a compass.
The C6 will have heated seats.
The C6 will have more of a dual cockpit interior.
The interior will have less black and be lighter like the 50th models.
There will only be a coupe and vert for 05
06 will have an FRC z06 with 500 HP .
Engines will continue to be small block PUSH ROD motor with only 2 valves.
Headlight will be intergated.
Passenger side interior air vents will adjust vertically and horizonally.
... this seems to be a very slight evolution from the C5: A "compass," "lighter interior color," "heated seats," "passenger vents" and the same basic "two-valve, push-rod" engines --- gimmie a break!
OK, the 500HP Z06 will be great, but the base C6 better not cost a bunch more $$$ than the current C5.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I'll like the C6 -- but I won't trade my C5 until GM puts more on the table. :skep:

We'll just have to see...
Also, when the C5 first arrived, it looked WAY better than the C4. But from all the C6 pics floating around, I honestly think the C5 still looks better :smash:

Isn't the magnetic ride going to be standard too?
Let's put it this way - what could we reasonably expect / hope to be changed that isn't going to be???

Passenger side interior air vents will adjust vertically and horizonally.
So you think a new engine, transmission, interior, exterior, wheels, frame, and gadgets are a "minor change?" :skep:
Get out more. You need it.

So? How is 425 HP with two valves different from 425 HP with four valves?
I guess this new engine won't qualify for 'the best'

Simply put the four valve one has fewer cubes and the rating is at a higher rpm. :chevy

Re: C6 seems to = very small improvements (Curtis A. Franz)
1) I sick of the PUSH ROD and FOUR VALVES bull S.
The point is a durable, lightweight, Hp., torque, low hood line, low cost package. On this bases the LS-1 is great and the new engine will be better. With modern materials in the valve train - a push rod valve system has inherent advantages over a four-cam design.
2) 55hp up / 200 lbs. down is a big deal. If you don't think so, price the Porche 911 line up.

C5 seems to = very small improvements
With news like this...
The C5 will have a longer wheelbase and shorter overall length.
The C5 will have more luggage space.
The C5 will have a wider interior.
The interior will have analog guages.
There will only be a coupe for 1997.
01 will have an FRC Z06 with 405 HP.
Engines will continue to be small block PUSH ROD motor with only 2 valves.
Headlight will flip up, not roll over.
Passenger side interior gets a grab handle.
...this seems to be a very slight evolution from the C4.
OK, the 405HP Z06 will be great, but the C5 better not end up costing a bunch more $$$ than the last C4.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure people will like the C5 -- but some won't trade their C4 until GM puts more on the table.
It's amazing how few differences you can see when you exclude the vast bulk of information gathered to date.

In my opinion, YES!! The C4 is a butt-ugly disco Vette! The C5 was a huge turning point for the Vette...now it's included in super car shootouts. I wouldn't drive a C4 if it was free. The square front end is horrible!

NO CORVETTE IS UGLY.
(by the way, disco was an ill-fated, shortlived music/lifestyle trend having NOTHING to do with the automotive industry, ESPECIALLY Corvettes)
((and oh, yeah, disco sucks))

Re: C6 seems to = very small improvements (bkuper)
No, sorry. I was 10 years old when my dad bought a 1977 Vette off the showroom floor. From that day on I was a Vette fan and have learned a lot about each year Vette, from '53 to today. When I was 17 I learned his '77 topped out at 128mph, but he never learned that from me. :)
I also learned that I can be honest with myself and admit when I think something is ugly. I loved the C4 *when it came out*, but today I think it's horrible looking, mainly because the C5 stepped it up many notches in the appearance and performance end.
I have my opinion, you have yours. :seeya
