not only that but it is supposed to be "awesome". That word is quoted by someone in the know but I forget who (hill?).

Anyway, I am assuming "awesome" means color display with pixels instead of a monochrome with lcd segments. And perhaps there will be other goodies.

But to answer your question: YES. :D

It appears from the spy pics that the HUD will be centered in the dash to prevent sun glare off the optics like the present one does.

Interestingly, the XLR HUD is the same as that on the C5, according to a GM employee driving one at CI4.

you know it would be cool if the HUD was programable. So if you had like turbos ,supercharger or nitrous you could put a boost gauge there... just food for thought! anyway the HUD is already pretty cool. Beacause i like analog gauges but sometiumes they are hard to read so the digital is nice but this way you don't have to look at the ones on your dash constantly... well i'm rambling so i'll stop now thanks for the info!

it would be cool if there was a GPS system in the C6 that displayed info on the HUD.

If the XLR headsup is the same....has anyone seen the Caddy system? Is it color? What read outs are on it? Layout?

XLR production has been delayed. Vette & XLR will share a new and VERY improved paint booth / procedure in the future. The PBooth mods will take place at end of the '03 vette production. So no one has seen the Production XLR yet.

However, I find it interesting that none of the car rags that has tested the XLR has raved about the HUD. If the C6 HUD is as hot as Hill has said, either..
1. it is not the same as will be offered in the XLR, or ...
2. the preproduction XLRs did not have the latest HUD, or ...
3. the car rags didn't know how to use the HUD correctly, or ...
4. the HUD is just not all that impressive.

the XLR HUD only displays MPH and the gear you are in when you use the "tab" stick. it is green in color, if i remember correctly.

XLR HUD is basicly the same as on the C5, according to the guy who was driving one down at Bowling Green.

Then it sounds like it's #1 or #2 above.

I don't remember where I heard that the HUD will illuminate from the center of the dash to keep from sun deflection into the drivers eyes but could this pic show that? Its hard to tell.
