2021 C6 of the Year Finalist - Modified
Just sold my C6 > It's been enjoyable posting here
With my sciatica (lower back pains) that are getting worse the older I get, it became time to sell my 2011 supercharged GS with 27,000 miles.
I have really enjoyed having this car since purchasing it new from MacMulkin Chevrolet back in June 2011. The new owner is a very long time friend of mine that is now on his way home to Maine with the Corvette from my home down here in SW Florida.
The Corvette has been replaced by a 2024 Kia K5 GT (big difference from driving the Corvette, to say the least).
Goodbye to my dear Sweetheart Corvette, I will miss you so much !
BTW ... You folks here on the Corvette Forum have been great all these years !

To bad you had to sell, that was a great car. Can you provide info on those seats, features, comfort, cost, etc.
After driving our two M vehicles for the last year, I've come to realize how poor the seats are in my Z. Will be looking to replace them with something that, hopefully, retains most factory functions/features but provides more support & holds you in place better.

Very comfortable, but the seat bottom side bolsters are just too high for me to now get in and out of the car with my bad back. However, just like other aftermarket seats, you loose the electric seat adjust capability. The seats manually adjust fore and aft and seat back recline. They also have seat back 'tilt forward' capability. The seats are manufactured in the US by Recaro and the seat materials are imported to the US from Recaro in Germany .. They are kind of pricey. I paid $1,400 per seat. No vinyl or fake materials used in the seat construction.

Hate to see you go, I've always enjoyed your post. Did you daily drive the GS?
I know what you mean about the Vette seats. I have a 2012 GS and they aren't the best.
In 2020 I bought a Hyundai Elantra Sport and the seats are much better in it. For that matter, the radio and all of the electronics are better but I suppose that comes with having a vehicle from 2020 vs. one that didn't change much since C6 into in 2005.
How do you like the Kia? I guess it's cousin to the Hyundai Sonata.
I just looked it up and it looks like it has a 2.5 L w/ 290 hp. That's not bad. I mean, it's not going to compare to your supercharged GS, but to get around town, I'm sure it's fast enough.
What other cars did you research and think about buying?
Best of luck.

And the car was really dependable ... Other than adding aftermarket parts to the car, the car never had any type of a failure except that the alternator failed a couple of years ago and needed to be replaced.
Tight engine that used no oil. Installed a higher stall torque converter, but never had and transmission problems. Had a good dyno tune using 93 octane pump gas and a conservative 7.5 psi max boost.

jbc1995fb ...
Yes, the Corvette was a 'daily driver', but since I am retired, it didn't get a lot of miles put on it since 2011 (27,000)
The Kia is really comfortable, but no where near the fun to drive as the Corvette. Yes, the Kia has the 2.5L turbocharged and intercooled 4 cyl engine (290 HP) with an 8-speed Dual Clutch (DCT) transmission.

Best wishes Ron !! I appreciate the tech advice you've given me here on the forum over the years. I'm still planning to get the same wheels and tires your car has for looks and performance. This is my favorite SSB C6 !!!

Always enjoyed your knowledge and enthusiasm for your car. Sorry for your back problems I’m hoping you feel better. I wanted to do a setup like yours on my 2010 but financial issues will have me selling it very soon. Please keep posting, you know your stuff

For your back, suggest joining a gym that offers yoga classes. Do it 2-3 days a week. That plus a good massage therapist can make a huge difference in your back pain. I am speaking from experience. Good luck!

Hi Ron, I feel your pain and know exactly how you feel about having to sell your ride. I sold my beautiful Z06 in December because my left knee needs to be replaced. Getting out of the car just made it not enjoyable to drive. I went in another direction though, I replaced it with a 2012 Bentley Continental GT. There's simply no comparison in speed & luxury. Good luck on your purchase.
