Chrome is dated and makes your car looks so 2010. There’s a reason GM stopped making chrome wheels on the C8 Corvette. You’ve never seen chrome wheels on a Ferrari or Mercedes. If you don’t like black go for gun meta gray. I luv my black Forgeline wheels. My car gets constant compliments and looks modern and not 11 years old.

I have chrome on my Monterey Red and it pops. If I put black wheels on it would look like S$&t. Black wheels have their place but that whole murdered out look is not for me.
Not sure if anyone watches any of the car builder shows but you rarely see one their cars with black wheels. Just sayin.

My '08 came with the forged gumby wheels. I had them refinished in a "dark titanium." I was never a big fan of murdered out wheels, but the refinishers did a great job. They also did a great job of blocking out the crest on the dust caps. Well worth the $600.

Chrome wheels look great on classic cars with complimentary chrome (mirrors, bumpers, under hood, etc.). When corvettes ditched the complimentary chrome in '74, the stand alone chrome wheels became bling IMO, like a gold chain in the disco era - hip at the time. I did once have a mullet in the '80s, so can't cast stones. Just a difference in taste.

Basically any color wheel but black unless you are changing the color of your tires...... There should be contrast between tire and wheel to break up the tire from the wheel...imo Black wheels might work if you add white letters to your tires but its a free world..."mostly" so you do what you like...

It was also one of the first mods you did way back in the day...remove the hub caps and paint the wheels black....cause we couldn't afford anything else... Who'd a thought now we have peeps that thinks black wheels and tires together look good....God is good and people are crazy......

Buy what you like. That`s what makes the world go around. I have always liked chrome so that is what is on my car.

Imo black rims looks great off the car and so so on the car.
Maybe with larger rim sizes and some huge killer brakes with some bling front and rear or at very least a polished lip, they could look nice but otherwise I'm not a fan for the most part.
I just feel it blurs the lines between wheel and tire and when looked at on a car the wheels and tires just look like black holes, especially from a distance.

Of course there's always this option....
I will say that I don't think that pictures do black wheels justice most of the time. Any contrast between the rims and the tires IS kind of washed out. I sent my best friend a picture of the car when I bought it... and when he saw it in person he said "Those wheels look a lot better than in the picture."
I will also be getting a new brake kit with zinc coated rotors to get rid of the grunge factor of the OEM rotors.
