Reproduced the Fuse Box Decal.....
In the constant effort to keep this Z true to OE originality and appearance, I have been working on a couple of the decals under the hood.
After much searching, I finally found a new OEM emission decal (known for fading on virtually every c6) for the radiator cover, I searched and searched for the fuse box decal as mine had delaminated due to age. I even considered buying the whole unit just to get a fresh decal but though better of this. As many of you know this decal is just not available so I had one made. They digitized my image and printed on heavy duty material. Ordered 3 and installed one today. It actually turned out better than I thought it would. Not perfect as the res is < than the original but if you didn't know, you wouldn't know. Just curious if I'm the only one that has sought out this decal and thoughts on how the repro turned out. I included a side by side of the original and the repro (keep in mind very close up, hi res shot to show the difference) and 2 of the reproduction installed.

I went the opposite route and removed every sticker or decal that was present on my car. Hell I do that on anything I buy.
That is a nice reproduction.

I've got 2 extras if anyone is looking for one; as stated previously, they are not perfect but really good for a copy.

The bigger question is why? It's not like the C6Z is a collector car, especially if you keep the engine original without addressing the potential dropped valve issue. If you don't drive it then maybe you're OK, but then what's the point?

That’s the beauty of our Corvette community; you can convert the car into a 100% track car, do some basic mods, or do nothing at all to change its appearance and performance. To each his own.😁

Yeah I agree with you OP... theres a thread in the z06/zr1 section right now where NMCA judges are looking into writing the rule book on c6s... some folks are going to see them as collector cars for sure. I think you did a great job on the reproduction.

StayinStock - That's interesting; thanks for posting. "Classic" status would be great but I will be happy if it retains most of it's residual value at this point with lower miles and pampering.

Imagine looking at a C1 with all its original under-hood labels.
As silly as some labels may be to some enthusiasts, I greatly appreciate WasVette's effort in a replacement label.
I am very happy that my C6 was not de-stickered.....at least not that I am aware of.

The idea that the C6Z, the last big cubes V8 Corvette ever made, ISN'T a collector car is absolutely absurd. At this point, Amy car with a manual transmission is basically a collector car.

Looks great, a little less glossy but it just may be the photo. Funny to find this post since I just noticed mine pealing up for the first time. Mine still looks perfect so I pealed up the top half and cleaned underneath with alcohol and pressed it back on. Seems fine for now and it still looks perfect and new after 18 years, 74K miles and years of intense heat. If it continues I will remove it and save it with my paperwork file on the car. My radiator shroud decal is still firmly affixed but has discolored and lost all of the writing. I should probably remove it at this point. Here is a list of decals P/N's that I found here on this Forum if anyone is interested and if they're even available. I doubt that these decals will make a difference in resale value but if they are cheap and available and it matters to the individual then go for it.
