Good lord I hate trying to read articles written for the short of attention span reading on a tiny phone screen. I got as far as "clean examples for under $20,000," went and checked the publication date, then decided the guy was smoking some good stuff to add that line lol! It's not written very well, and reads like a ChatGPT result.

There are too many mistakes in that article to be a sticky. It even says the 6 speed automatic was introduced in 2007, but our 2006 coupe had it. It says LS7 and LSA were built in Wixom, but so were the LS9 as well as the dry sump LS3 in the Grand Sport manual coupes, etc., etc. Poorly written and loaded with inaccuracies.

The GS really was a mix of the two, with parts and technologies borrowed from both, such as fiberglass panels instead of carbon, and a dry-sump version of the 6.2-liter LS3 engine (hand-assembled in Wixom just like the LS7).\

Only GS MT Coupes had the dry sump engine

LSA was never in a Corvette. And it was not hand assembled. "The LSA is part of GM’s fourth-generation V8 Small Block engine family, though unlike its LS9 counterpart, it is not assembled by hand, and was instead made at GM’s Silao facilities in Mexico. " Reference

As I had stated in the thread #1 post, this article was an "interesting read", this due, in part, to the juxtaposition of the glowing and absolutely correct title;

History of the C6 Corvette: Birth of a Legend and the First 200-MPH Vette!

contrasted by the (historical) inaccuracies that should have never made it to print by an author that at one time was editor of "Vette" magazine.

Having said that, I believe that the core message is noteworthy and that the C6 Corvette generation is an "historical" milestone in the lifeline of the Corvette story.

Lots of mistakes, but it's tough to write about a car that was made for so many years in so many configurations with changing options and features each year.

That said, they should have done better.
