Broken Bulb Removal, How ?
I have been changing out my old filament bulbs for leds. All has gone well until…….
The map light bulb snap off in my fingers, leaving only the glass base in the socket.
i cannot figure anyway to get that little sucker out of the socket.
Any suggestions and jokes appreciated.

Burning Brakes
Disconnect your battery and use a small angled pick to pry along the edges to work it out, either whole or in pieces.
Good luck & update with your final solution.

I live in Idaho, use a potato to remove a broke bulb.

They are a pain in the ***. The easiest way I found was to pry at the bottom in 2 places to allow the mirror slide out. Then you have full access to everything. Pics below for reference. Hold the corner closest to the pin you are prying up. I also used a dab of super glue on those pins before I put it together.

Thanks for that, but…
The bulb size is 74. Buy more than you need as I broke some getting them in and then out because of polarity. I pulled the courtesy fuse until I had them in and then tested to see which ones needed a 180 to work.

Thanks. Mine is a 2006 convertible. I had all that lovely silver looking trim in my car. I painted all those pieces a satin black and had the radio bezel professionally painted. May not be for everyone but out of all the options that is what I chose to do.

So I was successful today.
After an hour of preacher embarrassing contorted picking, I took a different direction.
I got it done in 30 minutes and love the bright white led’s. I picked up some Sylvania 194’s and noticed I could get them in blue or amber.
What is the point of amber ? Isn’t that just the old filament brown ? I cannot believe they sell that many.
I picked blue for my trunk LED’s and like them, but white every where else.
Anyway, what I did was remove the rear view mirror and put it on the bench to get a better perspective.
I selected a small flat head jewelers screw driver. Slipped it in the socket, twisted it, to bust the glass in 2 pieces. Then the 45 degree pick plucked them right out 1st try.
The all plastic housing of the Sylvania bulb means if they ever go out, I should be able to get aggressive with needle nose and yank them out easily.
thanks to all who responded !
