Car Cover Leaves White Powder??
I've had my GS for about 8 months now and I have been using the car cover the previous owner used. However, every time I use it it leaves this white powder substance all over the car. Especially after it rains. Would buying a new car cover fix this issue or would the new cover also leave this over time? The car is stored outside.
Also, I make sure to roll the cover off and to not wipe any of the powder off. I use a pressure washer to clean it off.

that happened to me a while back.... the fabric is just breaking down.....if there is a label on the cover call the manufacturing company and maybe the will give you a little credit toward a new one. just a thought

I’m guessing that you current cover may be old and is deteriorating.

I would think about changing the car cover quality and/or manufacturer (if you know it). That is a nasty amount of debris from your cover. I use the CoverCraft Weathershield HD. Although it is expensive, I trust it to protect my car as I have to park it outside in the Texas weather. The interior of the cover feels like a soft and almost rubbery texture where it touches the car. I just replaced the cover with the same after 7 years of ownership use. The only fault that I have experienced is where the double stitching has broken in a couple of places due to exposure to the elements.
Good luck...GD

I had one that ended up looking just like that. I believe it was called "Noah" and as it deteriorated it did the same thing. Like me, I think your cover is just getting old and tired.

It does look like a Noah and I’ve been using a Noah for the last 7 winters to store my vette in my garage. But IIRC, it’s advertised as an indoor cover, and the OP is using his outdoors. So far I haven’t seen any deterioration on mine, and this thread prompted me to go out into the garage and check.

I have just just upgraded from a C7 Conv to a C8 Coupe an have an indoor cover in good shape.
I was going to either buy a new cover or take the existing cover to a seamstress to move the mirror pockets forward
The C7 cover is stretchy and fits well on the C8 - just have to turn the mirror pockets inside out.
