Default Build date of 2007 with the "gas tank issue"?

I heard the gas tank issue (pump / filter goes bad and gas fumes escape the tank) started with the later 2007 builds and ran through the rest of the C6 run. Please correct me if I am wrong.
But if not, does anyone know the build-date that had the new fuel pump / filter that has the issue started?

You are wrong. All C6 Corvettes have this problem as Torquetube set the record straight in post #2 of this thread:

Cool. Thanks for clearing that up.

EDIT: Yeah I have seen Lyle say some things in his video's that are not quite right.

So it may not be the position (They started mounting at top in late 2004 end of C5 run I believe) / parts of the pump that mattered then but something else that only existed in 2007+ C6 models?
It sounds like mostly the same parts were used in all C6.

Just some conflicting information out there.

You can believe GM, or you can believe some guy on Youtube who is known for publishing bad info. Just because all of the pumps 2005+ are bottom of the tank, installed through the top, doesn't mean that the piece most likely to fail (plastic elbow at the top of the pump, molded into the lid) is the same for 2005/2006 as it is for 2007+. Since GM agreed to pay for repairs for 10 years on these units, I suspect they would not have excluded 2005/2006 if they also have this problem. And if GM had excluded these years, there would be numerous outcry threads on these forums about failed units on 2005/2006 cars with no warranty relief.

Previous poster is right. C&S Corvettes is NOT a reputable source.

Most cars I have read about with the problem are newer than 2006. I can't remember someone with an earlyC6 with the problem.

This is very odd seeing as the service bulletin posted above is for 07 - 13. One would think they'd issue a Special Coverage Adjustment for the years affected not the years unaffected.
