Kooks vs LG vs ARH longtubes?
Still looking for the right used deal to put longtubes on my GS.
I just missed out on a decent deal on kooks sadly.
I found a heavily used set of LG’s and a basically brand new ARH setup I am contemplating.
Are any of these known to be more problematic than others for install and fitment?
I have had plenty of sets of kooks and know what to expect. But unsure of how the fitment is on the other guys.
I hear ARH can be more problematic with needing the frame rails clearanced
Advise before I drop the money?

The only ones I've ever heard of having fitment issues are the Texas Speed. Can't imagine you'd have much problem with Kooks or AHR. I just cerakoted a set of AHRs for a member here. Super nice pieces.

From ARH header install instructions:
Note: On C6’s only, minor clearancing may be needed where lip protrudes the frame adjacent to passenger side collector. The lip protrusion isn’t consistent from car to car. Clearance the lip only if necessary.
Kooks do not have fitment problems and fit perfect.
I had ARH on my 2011 C6 GS, removed them and installed Kooks.

You could always call and talk to Lou directly. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...installed.html
I appreciate the link, but I’m not trying to call a business blind to ask something they should have on their website.
If nothing is on the site and no prices listed, this means they are going to take long to make and be expensive. Calling will likely just be a story about how great they are and how difficult they are to make justifying the price.
i tend to try my hardest to stay away from that game.
plus my post stated I was looking at used deals

I'm running ARH 17/8", on my ZR1. I bought them used off another ZR1 and had them coated. They fit great, but I had a speed shop install them. I don't know if they had any fitment issues, they didn't mention any. I know a lot of high horsepower ZR1's running them. Good luck.

Some questions I have though:
are zr1’s the alum chassis like the z06?
have you been under the car to confirm the frame rails were not banged in, not cutting or ribbon on the trans?

I ran a set of LG's on a C5 and really did not like their slip fit connection with respect to preventing leaks especially with multiple exhaust system installs. I also had a set of Kooks on a C6Z06 and had fantastic results with them, never leaking with multiple exhaust system installs. I highly recommend Kooks and have always seen very positive feedback on ARH also.

my experience with slip fit vs ball/socket has been similar.

have you been under the car? If you had someone else install them and not sure if they had to clearance them, it’s hard to take words on fitment from you.

I have Kooks long tubes, green cats, and x-pipe on my Maggie supercharged C6 GS. Love them. No fitment issues with Kooks in my experience.

My 2008 C6 LS3 came with Kooks headers and no-cat x-pipe mid pipe. I spent some time under the car this week doing some servicing and had a good look at the Kooks equipment. They are quite nice, well made, and no leaking or fitment issues I can see anywhere.
They are quite expensive but from what I can see they are quality pieces and sound mean, especially with the NPP system opened up. The cruising drone and WOT sound with the NPP open is brutally loud. With NPP closed the car is quite nice. If I had aggressive non-NPP mufflers on the back I would definitely want some resonators or the like to calm down the cruise drone.
