Tire recommendations for a C6 Coupe
I have Firehawk run flats currently on my C6 Corvette that many C6 Corvette users recommended about 7 years ago. Recently I had a flat on my Firehawk and I've been advised by discount tires that they don't make my tires anymore. What do you guys recommend run flat wise? Thank you in advance. Tires are stock size in height and width.

I'm a fan of Michelins. I had them on my Z06 and my ZR1 and currently have them on our 2001 Coupe. My Grand Sport came with Hankook Ventus V12, and they ride nice, but they're not runflat. Once I burn the tread off of these, I'll switch back to the Michelin ZPs.

All depends what you use it for.

It's a daily driver no track use or drag strip. She is a cruiser. My third family car. My wife and I like to cruise in her. 2012 C6 coupe with 30k miles on it and I bought her with 4 original miles.

Not a fan of run flats......had them on my 2005 Dodge Viper Commemorative Edition, and hated them. Took them off my 2007 Narrow Body (LS7 S/C'd) and now run Nitto 555G2's......love em. Just my experience.....

I'd just get whatever tires you think look nice and fit the price range then. No reason to go for super high end Michelin performance tires ton just putting around town.

I am not a Michelin or run flat fan! I do LOVE my BFG G-Force Comp 2 All Seasons. Great tire, great price! They look pretty tread heavy in pictures, but they look great in person.

I’ve got Michelin all season run flats on my GS. Great wet traction and so far, good tire wear. I’m sure they’re noisier than non ZP summer tires, but for where I live, they’ve worked out very well.

2020 C6 of the Year Winner - Modified
I currently have the following tires and am happy with all of them.
2011 Callaway supercharged Z06: Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP, 30k mile tread wear warranty. While I don't drive the Z in the rain, I did get caught in a monsoon/tornados for hours driving back to TX from the Corvette Museum & they handled the torrential rain well.
Previous tires, Continental Extreme Contact Sport - also very happy with them.
2023 BMW M2: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, non-ZP. Only 1,350 mi on the car, but tires seem pretty good. Haven't driven in rain, so can't comment.
2022 BMW X3MC: Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4. About 1k or so miles on these. Handle well in hot, cold, & wet conditions. Better ride and less noise than the Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP they replaced. Have a 45k mi tread wear warranty.
Honorable mention: Pirelli PZero-rft. Don't know if they come in Base Corvette sizes but had them on my last BMW. Handled very well in hot/cold/wet conditions, comfortable ride, and at 31k miles still had 5-6/32nds of tread left.

I too am not a fan of run-flats, I'd rather have less expensive, lighter, better conventional tires with a Slime/Fix-a-flat kit in the back for just-in-case. I'd recommend a good all-season like the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4.

I put a set of Michelin AS Pilot Sports (4) ZPs on my 09 Base last summer. There are lots of good options, but I really like them. I don’t track my car but do enjoy the local twisty roads. Good luck.

In June 2021, I replaced my Michelin Pilot Sport Run Flats with General G-Max RS Ultra High Performance Summer tiresand I have been very happy with them, especially their wet traction. They are smooth, quiet, great wet and dry traction and at a great price. There are a lot of good choices for tires. I was looking for a non run flat summer tire that was light weight and had a wide contact patch. I drive my car daily and I do not track it. This choice was right for me. I live in SW Florida so summer tires are fine year-round. After 20K miles, the fronts still have plenty of tread but the rears are at the end of their tread life so I bought a set of new rear tires to have installed soon.
They have great reviews on Tire Rack and in this Hot Rod magazine article: https://www.hotrod.com/articles/gene...ires-are-made/
BFG, Nitto and many other brands offer good tire choices as well.

Continental Extreme Contact Sport - for me

I have Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus tires for my 2010 C6 base. Highly rated by Tire Rack.
i carry a 12 V compressor in my trunk cubby in case of a flat. Firestone installed them. Guy there said no way they’re going to spend an hour scraping out the fix a flat gunk used for flats. I only drive locally and just keep a AAA membership in case I need a tow.

I put new Bridgestone Potenza S007A Runflats on my car last summer and I like them so far. When I parked it for the winter I found a nail in the LR so I am currently working with tire rack for my 1st ever road hazard claim. I received the new tire I ordered today, Getting it mounted up tomorrow and then submitting the paperwork to them. New tire was $549 and they will cover up to $519 if everything goes well ( they cover what I paid for the tire last January) Hopefully because its near the shoulder they reimburse me no problem. Its outside if their "repair zone"

I cant recommend the Michellen pilot sports any higher. Maybe not the right fit for you as a daily driver as they don't have a lot of tread depth, probably wont last very long (and expensive) but the grip is unbelievable and honestly adds a good amount of safety and ton's of confidence.
Maybe you don't track or strip the car, but if you have any fun at all and a "better" tire keeps you out of the ditch just once, its already paid for itself 10x over.
Its not new information, but the stock Goodyear's are universally regarded as trash. Haven't had experience with any others so thats all i got. Good luck!
