Default 2006 C6 base mods for N/A build

Hello everyone after 2 years from my original post I can finally say I own a 2006 c6 corvette base model.

In the next 4 years i would like to upgrade the car a bit and decided I will go full bolt na and then eventually add a supercharger to finish the build.

It is a A6 corvette fully stock except just added bilstein shocks and z51 sway bars.

These are the mods I plan on getting and the order. I would love feedback on whether some of these parts are not needed, if I’m missing any and the best order to do it.

driveshaft
torque converter
harmonic balancer (if bad or old?)
cold air intake
headers
catback exhaust
Fuel injectors
throttle body
e85? (I live in Minnesota )
….. anything else

You will have minimal changes at best with the cold air intake, headers and exhaust. Maybe 20-25 hp. The easiest and most reliable hp increase is with a S/C. Even with the stock exhaust it will really liven things up. About 100hp increase (25% of stock hp). Once I installed the S/C I then went with Belanger Custom Tri-Y headers, high flow cats, no mufflers (only resonators), and that added 54 hp. The Belanger's are amazing. I had them on both my Vipers and the the average hp gain by only changing to those Tri-Y headers was 63 hp on the 2005, and 59hp on the 94, then I S/C'd both of them and they were real beasts.

I wouldn't do anything until I was ready to do it all. Much less expensive that way.

The driveshaft and torque converter are fine unless you're planning really big HP.
The crank pulley needs to be replaced (with aftermarket, not GM) and pinned for supercharger duty if you go that route. Don't touch it unless it's bad or you do a cam swap or supercharger install.
No reason to buy a CAI....you don't know what will work with whatever supercharger you choose.
Headers, absolutely. 1.875" primary whether supercharged or not.
Catback exhaust is pretty much for sound only.
Choose the fuel injectors when you decide how much power you want and what fuel you'll be using.
Stock throttle body is fine for centri or turbo rigs. Bigger one helps with p/d blower set ups above 600 rwhp.

If you can't wait and need to do something, add the headers and catback of choice. Just hate to see you have to pay for two tunes.

driveshaft $1500
torque converter $1500
Installation for both $2500

cold air intake $400
headers $2500
catback exhaust $2000
Fuel injectors $600
throttle body $600
Tune $700
About $12k maybe what 60 rwhp? maybe?

I just had ECS install their base sc kit on my 2007 LS2 with an electric water pump and harmonic balancer, tuned and my bill was $12k
Car made 582 at the wheels (A6)
Just sayin'.....

The intake manifold on the LS2 is garbage. A FAST intake manifold would be first on my list and would help support all of your other intake and exhaust mods.

thank you for this info def will keep that in mind the driveshaft and torque tube is to make sure it runs and hold extra horsepower so maybe do that and supercharger.

How much power are you intending to make and how are you going to use it?

You need an auxiliary trans cooler and a good tune from someone that knows their way around an A6 transmission. Absolutely no reason to fool with the torque tube or driveshaft. If some shop is advising that, find another shop. If an individual is advising that, don't believe that or anything else they say. That's total bull ****.

You dont need injectors or e85, your factory injector will carry almost any mod you throw at it N/A. You also likely wont need any aftermarket throttle body unless you go with some sort of high flowing heads cam intake setup, and even then debateable. E85 N/A on ls motors just doesn't do much. Coyotes benefit from it because of their variable valve timing but pushrod motors wont see much of a gain for the ridiculous amount of fuel efficiency loss. (boosted is a whole other story). Like others have said, save your money for a blower if your goal is 600 wheel. Skip the heads/cam stuff. Plenty of guys running stock halfshafts and torque tubes at 800 plus not having any issues. These things are built pretty solid from the factory. Its when you start dead hooking them the half shafts become a worry. At 600 wheel youll be fine.

For your goal this would be my list:
ECS Novi 1500
Headers (if you want to save money go with speed engineering, Their a quality header for half the cost of the brand names and they hold up just as well)
Supporting Aux Fuel System (and injectors when you go boosted).

Talk to Doug Ring at East Coast Superchargers, theyll get you on the right track.

The supercharger kit from ECS will include everything you need for a stock car. Add catback if you want to be louder. Headers if you want a little more down the road.

I'm still running on their SC kit I installed back in 2008.
