As said above, you are wayyyyy over your head. Not only from a technology and mechanical standpoint, but from a realm of reality.
Name a single road in this country you can maintain triple digit speeds for more than short spurts from a space/traffic/road quality/safety perspective.
Now go the extra mile “pun intended” and tell me where you think you will be able to do almost 200mph for min min spurts with the above taken into consideration.

Your questions and goals are not realistic. Next you are going to ask us how you can win the lotto

maybe OP is preparing for some dystopian mad max future where he'll have to drive his c6 at sustained speeds while outrunning bands of desert outlaws... who are we to judge

I would think the first problem with 190mph for 20 min. would be the size of the gas tank.

Brother PMP, allow me to introduce you to the Silver State Classic. There's a guy who runs that thing in a heavily modified 928 S4 at an average of about 197mph for 90 miles. The current record is an average speed of 219.6 mph.

No, a Grand Sport isn't going to get it done; probably need a ZR1 to start from or a modded Z06. But he did mention open road racing up above.

Color me surprised there is enough road that can be closed down for long enough for this to happen.

Open road racing has been covered in several car magazines for a couple of decades. Some people might be even more surprised to know that there is currently more than ONE open road race held in the US annually. See details on Wiki. I was lucky enough to run the SSCC the same year that the new record was set by Robert Allyn (driver, USA) and David Bauer (navigator, USA). Boy were they pumped up at the finish line, and rightfully so.

For the OP, you should read the rules for the open road race that you wish to attend and modify your car accordingly. Based on my experience, your GS would need a lot of both safety and speed mods not the least of which is a large fuel cell in order to run above 155 mph at the Silver State Classic. When I ran the 150 class (165 tech) in my ZR1, I barely made it to the gas station at the end of the course. I passed a Dodge Viper (same class) who came up about a mile shy. The point is that before adding power for speed and adding weight for safety you might want to consider a different platform. The record holder was driving a modified NASCAR body and frame and had worked his way up to that record speed over the span of several races. You also should look at the race results to see who finishes and who doesn't. In the higher speed classes there are a lot of DNF's.

In the end, it's your butt and your money that's on the line. I suggest you do some research and then you can make an informed decision.

Yes, with each speed catagory, comes the minimum required in safety equipment, some required, others highly recommended. Yes, those are a given, fuel cells, fire suppression, roll cages, bodily restraints.

back to the Corvette and the Grand Sport, other than a transmission cooler and oil cooler, "what" mods do you road racer types (actually the "been there, done that") recommend? No, I do realize I am not going to break any records with the car I have but in my limited car what else could be added to improve its performance. The twin turbo that is secured at the rear exhaust seems interesting because of the tight quarters and very buttoned up cavity of the body of the C6 but has shown to have more room than the C7 or C8 for "adding" extras. What "mods" to which do you refer? I know the C6 Grand Sports has its limits and each successive generation has improvements but even they have limits if they want to road race. Just go to Ron Fellows and see they have not "one" but "two" oil coolers added to their C8s because they would get too hot without them for what they do with them plus they are mounted on the "bottom" of the car because there just "is no room" for anything else because it's beyond tight packed with all its wicked performance! FYI when after 5000 miles they sell those C8s for a reduced price but they take those oil coolers "off", but I digress, What Mods for the C6 Grand Sport can improve the "limits" of my car? And "yes" I know that I can just go out and buy a C8, not my interest. What can I do to this car to tweak its performance capabilities.

190 MPH for 20 consecutive minutes is possible on the Uvalde Proving Grounds' 8.7 mile high speed oval track (primarily used for tire testing in Uvalde, Texas) or on certain rural/sparsely populated stretches of the German Autobahn. Some Americans ship their cars to Europe for an extended vacation that includes drives on the Autobahn and often involves a drive on Germany's Nurburgring, with the car being shipped back here at the conclusion of the vacation. I personally know of somebody (an American) who did that with his Volkswagen GTI. He had a lot of fun meeting and cruising around with the local German GTI club.
