Default C6 Front Splitter

Purchased a CF splitter from AmericanMuscle, and this is what I received. They won't issue a return label until their "tech support" department looks at it, yet the rep said they don't see the item because it ships directly from a third party.

Any recommendations on a C6 splitter would be greatly appreciated.

I have yet in my 20+ years of working on cars ever seen a perfect carbon fiber piece.
i super **** retentive and ocd, so I have given up on owning carbon fiber goods.

Should've got "forged" carbon or a carbon wrap. Real woven carbon fiber, besides a flat panel, will ALWAYS have areas that are not uniform. Those "defects" will not hurt performance at all and unless you run someone over, no one will notice.

I had the one from C7 Carbon for several years. It is very thin but had no defects. It ended up easily cracking, and I was hoping to get something similar maybe a bit beefier. I wasn't expecting to see the defects that this one had. The corners near the tires also do not sit flush, so I cannot install it due to the multitude of defects. I guess I'll revert back to C7 Carbon as their unit mounted flush and did not have any noticeable issues; just very thin and not sturdy.

C7 Carbon or perhaps ACS would have what you are looking for.

The only Perfect carbon fiber part would be aircraft certified. In other words astronomical expensive.
Live with the imperfections or by a fiber glass part have it carbon fiber wrapped or painted.

I got my ZR1 setup from a company that is no longer in business unfortunately (American Hydrocarbon) but it seems that West Coast Corvette (westcoastcorvette.com) has bought them out. The part is molded off of a ZR1 and not some jig or mold so the fitment is perfect and it is coated with 5 layers of UV protective clear. i have yet to crack it or break it and it looks fantastic. Like PMPerformance said, I am **** and a bit OCD so I understand the desire for that perfect part. Check them out. I have ordered from them before for other parts and have not been disappointed. I hope this helps you out.

Try Faircloth composites if that doesn't workout. Chris does some amazing work.

I am sorry but West Coast Corvette did not buy American Hydrocarbon. We we just a dealer of their items.

If you want beefy, go look at APR. They're not cheap, but they look good and are really solid. That's what I ultimately ended up doing after shattering one of the cheaper splitters.
