Had my Silverado high country 6.2 shut off on me and the shop says I need a new motor. Does anyone know any reputable shops in Grand Rapids to rebuild or replace a 6.2? I cannot find anything online for good shops by me to do the work and reinstall.

Only reputable shop in MI I've heard of is Katech.
In Clinton Township unfortunately east other side of state.

how does shop know it needs motor did it lock up ? mite just need a timing chain .

Not sure, they’re calling me Monday with more info. But he said it took a while to get it to fire back up and then when it did it had a terrible squealing sound that was not coming from the belt. I haven’t heard it in person but this is what I have to go off of right now.
