Not unless the price is about half what a non slavage car would sell for.

For some people it's worth it and for others it's not. Cost of a rebuilt car is lower to buy, but the same applies when you sell. Was the frame bent? If it was, it may never drive as good as new again. Was it in a flood? You could be in for problems that keep cropping up over the long term, so that is why I stay away from them.

If you are going to track it sure. That said YOU will OWN it. Most people wont buy a salvage titled vehicle , so be prepared to keep it. Also check w Insurance, they may not cover for full coverage or collision if in future accidents.

I echo what others have said, With that in mind, you can get a bargain - IF you know what you're doing, or you just get lucky. If you don't know what you're doing, you just bought a money pit that you also can't readily sell off or insure.

A friend of mine knows how to do that sort of thing. He can look at a wreck or an abused car and estimate what it will need to make that car right and what doing so will cost. The result is that he can pick up a great car at a fire sale price or walk away. But with all due respect, if you're asking the question in the first place, you probably don't have that knowledge.

That is not intended as insult. For my part, I know that I don't know enough about what I am doing, so I bought the cleanest, straightest no stories no mods not hits low mileage C6 I could get my mitts on.

That's IF the tracks in his state allow a convertible. If not the only solution is a full roll cage, which is why I haven't been able to race my car since I moved to AZ. The tracks here all require a roll cage. Personally, I wouldn't buy a salvage car unless it was a coupe, and I planned on doing a full on race build on the car.

If the price is right have a pre-purchase inspection performed. If that checks out, there's no reason not to buy it to own and Enjoy. Insuring isn't an issue. You can even buy an aftermarket warranty.

Thank you guys for all the feedback. I posted this for a friend of mine thatt has always wanted one but never could afford one. I have never looked at or thought about buying one with this kind of title. I haven't seen the car but the pics look great, exterior & interior is flawless (from the pics). Red with white top with white interior with 43000 miles. And $9000 . I had forgotten I had posted this from him until he reminded me yesterday so I will let him read these reports from you guys.

Not exactly. Depending on the state, a vehicle with a rebuilt title has undergone inspection and has been deemed road worthy i.e. the dot or some states the highway patrol.
