Red fluid leak from back of car.
(C6 A6 2008 80k miles) I had a transmission fluid leak at my trans pan gasket. I replaced it and that leak is gone, but the cross member or whatever it is called on the bottom that holds the transmission and diff has fluid coming from somewhere leaking through it that is also red. Is it true the fluid in the bushings is red and that could be the problem or is it common for the transmission to leaked somewhere up there also. I can't find this toppic anywhere on here. I am not sure if I am just not searching the right words or what. If you know anything please help. I am stumpt and don't really have the money to pay someone to diag it.

If its red its trans fluid, check your lines, check the gasket and make sure you didnt pinch something in it, go back over your work. Could have been residual fluid laying on the crossmember. Clean everything and see if it comes back. Diff fluid would be black or brown.

I have cleaned it pretty heavy with brake cleaner as it was pretty nasty. here is some pictures. I'm gonna have a friend help me look over it that is more experienced than myself this Sunday. Seeming that it's not a common leak, I am hoping it won't cost me much to take care of.
