My New Addition to the Family
I’ve been saving my *** off ever since I got my first C6 back in May ‘22. And as is always the case with me, when I find something I like, I’ll more than likely get a second one. Or third. I found this bad boy in Texas (I’m in California) and it checked all the boxes. It doesn’t have the magnetic ride control, but I drive around with my other Vettes set on the stiffest setting anyway so I figured the Z16 suspension should be sufficient. It just came out of the detail shop and is awaiting transport. I have a video from the initial website advertisement and a second video the salesman took for me after the detail when he parked it to await to transport. I’m so excited it’s kind of taking a toll on me. I have an anxiety condition as it is and this does NOT help that situation lol. Haven’t been able to sleep well in the last few days and I find I’m spending my idle time pacing back-and-forth like an expectant father, without even realizing it.
It has 90,000 miles, but… Who cares? At least I finally got one. Besides, I found that in the Corvette world, the mileage knows no difference in with what the car needs in it’s life. I got a C6 with half the miles and had to dump a fortune into it, And I have another C5 with almost twice the miles, and haven’t really had to do dick to it… so what’s the big deal?
Anyways, here’s pics of my new baby and I will definitely post some more shots when it arrives. I tried to upload the videos but they are too large. Shame. They were cool.
One quick question for you guys out there… It has NPP and I saw videos about pulling the fuse. Is that OK? Or will it have any detrimental effects on any other part of the vehicle doing that? I thought about the mild to wild switch, but I really don’t have any desire to drive around with this thing on “quiet mode“ so I figured that may be an expense I don’t have to bother with.
Any thoughts?
MAN, I LOVE THIS CAR!!!

RPM is close to me, and has been in business awhile. My family and I have sold 2 vehicles to them. IMHO, they represent their cars well... so you are getting what you paid for. Congrats.
Pulling the fuse has no adverse effects. If you want the valves open all the time, go for it.

Don’t worry about miles. Your 90k car probably looks better than my 30k mile car does.
low miles does not mean better condition or maintained.
Enjoy the fruits of your labor and congrats on the purchase!

Thanks for the info on pulling the fuse too.
It’s still up on their website if anyone wants to get more of a look at it. They take nice pictures and a video is there too. I love the stone “Lazy Susan” they have. Makes me think of the Batmobile with it sitting on that thing. 😁

Congrats! Welcome to your new full-time job. I've owned three black Corvettes, and I'm not sure I could ever own another one. I'll stick with blue (for now).
Side note, I'm loving my Grand Sport, too. It's the perfect blend of everything I liked about my Z06 and my ZR1 (minus the power), except I can drop the top.

I gotta say, it doesn't get much sexier than a triple black GS! I love the body lines of a vert with the top 'up'.

I’m saving for a black Z06 now to round out the collection. I’ve been selling off my (was) 120 piece guitar collection. Down to a little over half now. That should be more than plenty to get me one. The first half alone was able to get me a very nice base C6, a nice C5 Vert, and the C6 GS Vert. Now it’s time for the street legal race car. Not too bad for only devoting the last 13 months to this.
I’m noticing a pattern here… I may need to seek professional help. 😆

I had just noticed reading the Carfax that I am the fifth owner of this car and the first one to not get a loan out to pay for it. I paid cash.
Which tells me I got a better deal than the four previous owners. 😉
It’s detailed and ready to transport. Should be heading this way soon.

How does your paying cash indicate that you were the beneficiary of a better deal? The only thing it indicates to me is a bigger bank balance.

And for another thing… It’s apparent that I paid less than any previous owner for the same car. 😉

The finance charge is viewed as a secondary cost and established based on various factors, buyers credit score, amount of down payment, funding source. The fact that you paid less for the car is indicated by its age, prices for used cars have been coming down since January 2022.
You have a very nice looking car and hope that you enjoy it for many years.

From someone who has tried to buy cars and boats in cash before:
it is a hassle and there are no better deals to be had.
I just finance now and pay off right away or take low interest loans because there is no benefit to paying cash anymore. Dealers treat you like you have the plague when you throw stacks of hundreds on their desk and say “I’ll take it”

To a dealer all deals are cash, the only difference is the source: customer or financial institution. I have seen people with cash, not a check, there is additional paperwork to be completed. In the past I have financed cars and then after a couple of months paid them off. The reason for this is new car dealers offer better rates and also receive money from the lender to generate a loan. Banks pay different amounts per loan, most pay the dealer $100 per loan. F&I and back office of dealerships is a very interesting place.
