UPDATED INFO:Not so nice ride home from work on a beautiful fall day…
Traveling west on a 55mph country road on my way home from work, an older (than me) lady heading east, sitting with her blinker on waiting to turn north, decided to pull in front of me. We were both ok, I’m a little sore from grabbing the wheel and the airbag. Car’s not so great. Worried about what the insurance adjuster will say.

Yikes! That's awful! Glad you're ok and hope insurance handles most of the hassle and headaches.
It sounds like those big contact patches and big brakes may have helped with the "We were both ok". Car made the sacrifice so you didn't have to, and earns a rightful place in Valhalla.

I'd say she's toast. Sorry man, that sucks. If it were my car I'd rather it be totaled and get a replacement that hasn't been wrecked than having it fixed.
Say it's totaled, what would you buy as a replacement? Would you try to find an identical car or something else?

Ooooh nooo! As a fellow owner of a 2010 JSB GS… this saddens me.
I sincerely hope they can fix it, and it can be returned to you as it was.
My condolences. Sucks that these things happen… I had a jackass run a red light on me today. Thankfully I was paying attention and managed to stop before contact was made… targets painted on JSB Grand Sports today I think.

Total. They compare the value of the car to the cost of the repair parts and labor. As a car gets older the resale value is less but the parts still cost the same or more. So the older the car gets with the same damage the less likely it can be salvaged. And why would you want this repaired?

For myself, I would want to replace with another C6 Grand Sport. I just like the car so much.

I agree with everyone else's sentiment - probably totaled. At least you weren't badly hurt, and you can replace the car if you want to.

I love everything about this car, but after this much damage I’m praying they total it….
I’ll also go to the tow lot as soon as I can to get the windrestrictor out and swap out the morimoto tail lights for factory. Probably have to eat the Bilstein B8’s I put on in spring, and of course the new rotors and tires…
I hope they don’t try to F*#k me on $$. With that said, our insurance company has been great, we’ve been with them for 30 years.

I sold a C7 vert and bought this GS vert shortly after. About the only thing I missed was the backup cam. So, probably a C6 for sure, definitely a wide body and probably not a vert this time.

Cars can be replaced, people and life not so easily.
Glad that you are OK, and hope all goes well with the insurance company.
If you have receipts for recent repairs/updates that may work to your benefit as well.
Being in mid Michigan you should have a lot of time to get exactly what you want without missing driving time.
